Festival international de musique actuelle de Victoriaville: Collectif Tendancielle

Fri 19 May 2023 • 05:00 pm Free Improvisation
Centre des Congrès - Victoriaville 26$
· by Rédaction PAN M 360

The Trois-Rivières-born ISABELLE CLERMONT plays the harp and is a visual artist. She has been featured at FIMAV as a member of the GGRIL, and also with a sound installation in 2021. CAMILLE BRISSON plays the flute and is also from Trois-Rivières, and also a visual artist. She is deeply involved in the arts scene of the Saguenay area.

They are both interested in sound art, cultural mediation, and the theatrical and performance aspects of live music. And they kept crossing each other’s paths between the Bas-Saint-Laurent and Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean regions of Quebec. In other words, the question was not whether they would work together, but when.

And thus, since 2021, they have been rolling out projects that are often ephemeral happening-type affairs. « Tendancielle » is their most accomplished collaboration, the place where they fully develop their common artistic and social ideas. Here, harp and flute are augmented with sound objects and electronics, the music is improvised from a collectively developed vocabulary, and the stage design is constantly evolving, turning each performance into its own premiere. A wonderful collaboration that stands at the forefront of Musique Actuelle!
