A string that vibrates, a silence that answers: this is how the oldest stories are born. Narrators of Peace (The Narrators of Peace), carried by Navāk Ensemble, belongs to that lineage in which music becomes a common language, capable of reuniting what borders keep apart.
Heirs to the radif, that vast classical Persian repertoire passed from master to disciple like a precious secret, the musicians of Navāk Ensemble turn every note into a meditation, a dialogue suspended between the eternity of ancient modes and the vertigo of the present instant. Their art goes beyond mere restitution of the past: it releases its living force, setting it vibrating on contact with melodic influences, rhythms, and ideas drawn from every corner of the world.
At the heart of this sonic universe, the Iranian instruments seem to carry the soul and melancholies of an immemorial Orient. Between blazing virtuosity and the freedom of improvisation, they modulate sorrow and joy with an almost vocal grace, asserting themselves as the poetic voice of a shared memory. Together, the musicians forge an organic dialogue in which transmission becomes an act of pure creation, where traditional melodies, contemporary arrangements, and improvisation converge to build, note after note, a common musical language.
Born in a time of conflict and fracture on a global scale, Narrators of Peace extends the approach begun by Navāk Ensemble with Call of Peace (L’Appel de la paix), offering music as a space of listening, empathy, and dialogue. This immersive experience reminds us that, beyond borders and differences, music can open a safe and peaceful space where beings come together, share their stories, and rediscover, together, their common humanity.
For the span of an evening, this performance invites the audience into a rare sensory experience, a space of grace in which musical breath dissolves distance and binds souls together.
