Une occasion rare d’assister aux prestations iconiques du duo de musique folk Corail et du compositeur Joseph Marchand avec son nouvel album instrumental Treize miniatures. Corail est un duo montréalais aux sonorités folk inspirées des années 70. Constitué de Julien Comptour et de Philippe Noël, le duo exprime une complicité sincère et touchante à travers les mélodies de guitares et de voix parfaitement arrimées, portant des textes francs et imagés. Après un premier album indépendant intitulé Maison à l’automne 2023, puis un microalbum collaboratif avec Vanille au printemps 2024 sous l’étiquette Bonbonbon, Corail s’apprête à sortir son percutant deuxième album dont vous entendrez plusieurs chansons lors de ce spectacle de la série Les Veillées. Compositeur, réalisateur et musicien, Joseph Marchand est hautement reconnu sur la scène musicale et audiovisuelle, en plus d’être un allié du groupe Corail. Ayant collaboré avec de grands noms comme Pierre Lapointe, Ariane Moffatt, Daniel Bélanger, Safia Nolin et Marie-Pierre Arthur, il a cumulé les nominations au Gala de l’ADISQ et est lauréat de trois prix Félix pour des albums qu’il a réalisés. Avec son tout nouvel album instrumental Treize miniatures, il explore à travers 13 fenêtres le langage minimaliste façonné par la matière même de l’instrument : la guitare. A rare opportunity to experience iconic performances by the folk music duo and by composer Joseph Marchand, showcasing his new instrumental album Treize miniatures. Corail is a Montreal duo whose folk sounds are inspired by the 1970s. Consisting of Julien Comptour and Philippe Noël, the duo showcases its sincere and touching collaborative spirit through guitar melodies and perfectly paired voices delivering powerful lyrics, filled with imagery. After putting out a first independent album titled Maison in the fall of 2023 and a collaborative EP with Vanille in the spring of 2024 on the Bonbonbon label, Corail is getting ready to release its impactful second album, from which several tracks will be performed during this show for the Les Veillées series. Composer, producer, and musician Joseph Marchand is well-known on the music and audiovisual scenes and has collaborated with the band Corail. Having worked with such renowned artists as Pierre Lapointe, Ariane Moffatt, Daniel Bélanger, Safia Nolin, and Marie-Pierre Arthur, he is a frequent ADISQ nominee and a three-time Félix Award winner for albums he has produced. On his brand-new instrumental album, Treize miniatures, he uses the 13 tracks to explore the minimalist language shaped by the very essence of his instrument: the guitar.
