Chostakovitch et Ravel selon Rafael Payare

Grâce à sa sublime orchestration et ses grandes arches sonores, Elysium de Moussa dévoile l’intemporel paradis de l’Antiquité grecque. Le pianiste islandais Víkingur Ólafsson interprètera le Concerto en sol de Ravel, éclatant, méditatif, coloré par le jazz, à la fois léger et brillant. Changement de ton en deuxième partie de concert avec l’orageuse Dixième Symphonie de Chostakovitch, hantée par le fantôme de Staline.

The sublime orchestration and great arches of sound of Elysium by Moussa conjure up the timeless paradise of Greek Antiquity. Icelandic pianist Víkingur Ólafsson performs Ravel’s Concerto in G, a dazzling, meditative, jazz-tinted work that is both light and brilliant. Then, the atmosphere drastically changes in the concert’s second half with Shostakovich’s Tenth Symphony, haunted by the spectre of Stalin.
