Blue Hawaii a passé plus d’une décennie à perfectionner son art. Ils se sont rencontrés en 2009, au cœur de la scène underground montréalaise en plein essor. Après avoir commencé par des enregistrements de chambre lo-fi, ils ont progressivement évolué vers un son plus entraînant et plus dansant. L’essence de leur travail se traduit par la confiance en la voix sanguine et l’écriture de Raphaëlle “Ra” Standell-Preston, et la production distinctive d’Agor “DJ Kirby”. Ils assemblent de manière unique chaque aspect de leur musique au milieu d’un océan de séparation, Agor étant à Berlin et Ra à Montréal.
Blue Hawaii has spent over a decade perfecting their craft. The two met in 2009, at the heart of Montreal’s burgeoning underground party scene. Finding their start with lo-fi bedroom recordings, they gradually evolved towards a more uplifting and dance forward sound. The essence of their work is threaded through the confident sanguine vocals and songwriting of Raphaelle “Ra” Standell-Preston, and the distinctive production of Agor “DJ Kirby”. They uniquely assemble every aspect of their music together amidst an ocean of separation, with Agor in Berlin, and Ra in Montreal.
