Luminous organ and slippery, glittering guitar licks summon up an ersatz Asian strain of tropical retro rock (fans of Khruangbin and Dengue Fever, take note), on the first full-length from this dizzy Dutch combo. Lead single “One Inch Punch” carries forward the low-gravity disco of the Dutch band’s auspicious debut seven-inch “Dion Ysiusk” (its B-side “Dis̄ kô Dis̄ kô”, sham Thai molam over Moroder on valium, closes out The Rabbit…). Elsewhere, YĪN YĪN ease off into dulcet sunset ramblers like “Alpaca,” and crank the tension up again for the title track’s nocturnal stalk-and-pounce. A light, bright and spicy delight.
