Among other projects, the excellent New York drummer Mark Guiliana guides the destiny of a band inspired by electro and hip hop. Anything new under the sun? In fact, he is one of the few to succeed at the integration without the impression of electronic ornaments affixed to a form similar to jazz fusion in the ’70s and ’80s. The percussionist and composer strives for a real encounter between the styles, resulting from digital creation. The beginning of this adventure deserves to be highlighted: in 2013, the trio Beat Music (Tim Lefebvre, bass, Jason Lindner, keyboards, Mark Guiliana, drums and machines) launched a project far from depletion three albums later.
