A happy event to be highlighted: the re-release of two out-of-print records from the ’80s and ’90s by Joëlle Léandre, queen of all queens of strings. In the first part, the contrabassist offers solid and meaningful interpretations of works by Cage, Bussotti, Scelsi, Jolas, Kanach and Druckman. Complement the programme are compositions and improvisations in which Léandre reveals herself as a rooted, virtuosic, theatrical and lyrical artist. A tribute to the emancipated contrabass.
