« Il faut que la femme s’écrive : que la femme écrive de la femme et fasse venir les femmes à l’écriture, dont elles ont été éloignées aussi violemment qu’elles l’ont été de leurs corps. » C’est en gardant ces mots d’Hélène Cixous en tête que le Trio SR9 et Kyrie Kristmanson ont construit le projet Venus Rising, où les œuvres féminines, de Hildegard von Bingen à Björk en passant par Kate Bush sont à l’honneur. Le trio français SR9, qui se distingue par sa configuration audacieuse incluant piano préparé, marimba, gockenspiel et vibraphone, s’est fait connaître tant en solo qu’auprès d’artistes comme Blick Bassy, Camille et Thomas Fersen. La Canadienne Kyrie Kristmanson, véritable globe-trotter, est pour sa part à l’aise en anglais comme en français. Elle brille par sa polyvalence, comme en témoignent ses enregistrements, qui vont de l’indie folk au classique.
