Entre 1795 et 1811, Beethoven présente au monde ses cinq concertos pour piano, traçant la voie du classicisme hérité de Mozart à un monde sonore qui lui sera propre. Arion est fier de pouvoir entamer cette trajectoire majeure mariant piano et orchestre avec cette complice d’une grande intelligence musicale, musicienne sensible autant que virtuose, Élisabeth Pion. Cette intégrale sur instruments d’époque s’amorce avec les trois premiers concertos, dans ce concert qui sera suivi d’un enregistrement discographique. En complément de programme, Arion fera revivre la musique de Sophie Gail, contemporaine de Beethoven, en interprétant l’ouverture de son opéra-comique La Sérénade.
Between 1795 and 1811, Beethoven introduced the world to his five piano concertos, charting a path from the classical style inherited from Mozart toward a sound world uniquely his own. Arion is proud to embark on this major musical journey, merging piano and orchestra, with pianist Élisabeth Pion, a deeply intuitive, musically intelligent, and virtuosic collaborator.
This historically informed performance marks the beginning of a complete cycle with the first three concertos, in a concert that will be followed by a recording. As a complement to the program, Arion also brings to life music by Sophie Gail, a contemporary of Beethoven, with a performance of the overture to her opéra-comique La Sérénade.
