The Orchestre national de jazz at the Cinquième Salle

The Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal and the ODD SOUND Festival are delighted to welcome saxophonist and composer Donny McCaslin, under the direction of conductor and composer Philippe Côté.

This opening concert of the third edition of the Festival features the premiere of “Shades of Bowie”, a piece by Philippe Côté inspired by the music of David Bowie, composed for saxophonist Donny McCaslin and the Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal.

Opening the evening, McGill University’s Jazz Orchestra 1 will present their repertoire including “Two Fifteen”, a piece by Philippe Côté inspired by Lee Tsang’s poem of the same title about residential schools.

L’Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal et le Festival ODD SOUND sont très heureux d’accueillir le saxophoniste et compositeur Donny McCaslin, sous la direction du chef d’orchestre et compositeur Philippe Côté.

Ce concert d’ouverture de la troisième édition du Festival présente la création de Shades of Bowie, une pièce de Philippe Côté inspirée par la musique de David Bowie, composée pour le saxophoniste Donny McCaslin et l’Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal.

En première partie, l’Orchestre de Jazz 1 de l’Université McGill présentera leur répertoire incluant Two fifteen, une pièce de Philippe Côté inspirée du poème du même titre de Lee Tsang à propos des pensionnats autochtones.
