From the fluidity of water to the implacable mechanics of machines, SIXTRUM Percussion explores the transformation of sonorities through mechanical and electronic devices and materials.
Transformations presents five works in which the sound material is in constant variation, whether through the manipulation of instruments in contact with water, the expansion of acoustic sounds through electronic processing, or the continuous augmentation of an original sound through looped repetition. Three works inspired by the aquatic universe, in which sonorities are in constant evolution, contrast with the mechanistic, pulsating universe of two pieces by Pierre Jodlowski that will be presented for the first time in Canada, Mécano 1 and Loops 24.
De la fluidité de l’eau à la mécanique implacable des machines, SIXTRUM Percussion explore la transformation des sonorités au travers des dispositifs mécaniques et électroniques et des matières.
Transformations donne à entendre cinq œuvres où le matériau sonore est en constante variation, que ce soit par la manipulation des instruments au contact de l’eau, par l’expansion des sons acoustiques par des traitements électroniques, ou encore par l’augmentation continue d’un son original au moyen de répétitions en boucle. Trois œuvres inspirées de l’univers aquatique, où les sonorités sont en constante évolution, viennent contraster avec l’univers mécaniste et pulsé de deux pièces de Pierre Jodlowski qui seront présentées pour la première fois au Canada, Mécano 1 et Loops 24.
