Une grande partie de son œuvre leur est intimement liée, au point d’avoir inspiré, siècle après siècle, l’école française de l’orgue. Olivier Latry, figure majeure de l’instrument, célèbre ce génie total à travers l’art de la transcription : Bach revisité par Bach lui-même, puis réinventé par Dupré, Duruflé, Vierne ou Widor. Cette rencontre entre des cultures très différentes a donné naissance à de formidables pages musicales redécouvertes dans des manuscrits datant des XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles. À ces sources écrites s’ajoutent des pièces de traditions orale et populaire transmises de génération en génération. Savourez une soirée musicale lumineuse et colorée en compagnie des musiciens de Constantinople et de Federico Tarazona, l’un des plus grands virtuoses de l’instrument emblématique des Andes, le charango.
The music of the Andes and South America is the heir to pre-Hispanic musical traditions, enriched by the contributions of the peoples who later settled in this “New World.” This encounter between very different cultures gave rise to remarkable musical works rediscovered in manuscripts dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. Alongside these written sources are pieces from oral and popular traditions passed down from generation to generation.
