Les légendaires rois du punk du Canada, qui ont contribué à répandre la contre-culture punk rock dans le monde entier, abordent une étape importante. Pendant près de 25 ans, D.O.A. s’est joyeusement attaqué à toutes sortes d’ennemis philosophiques. Ils ont parcouru le monde presque sans interruption depuis leur formation en 1978 ; ils ont sorti leur premier morceau de vinyle hargneux, le EP « Disco Sucks », en juin de la même année. Cette plaque de plastique a ouvert la porte à une notoriété internationale, à des émeutes, à des maisons de disques corrompues et à trois générations de fans.

Canada’s legendary Punk Kings,who helped spread punk rock counterculture around the world, approach a momentous milestone. For nearly 25 years D.O.A. has been happily slashing away at all manner of philosophical enemies. They’ve travelled the globe almost continuously since they formed in 1978; they released their first snarling piece of vinyl, the « Disco Sucks » EP in June of that year. That slab of plastic opened the door to international prominence, riots, rip-off record companies and three generations of fans.

Oliver Ackermann a formé A Place To Bury Strangers à Brooklyn, New York, en 2003. Il a écrit, produit, mixé et masterisé les cinq albums de A Place To Bury Strangers et de nombreux EP. Il a parcouru le monde sans relâche pendant 13 ans avec différents membres du groupe. Groupe de scène féroce et légendaire, APTBS est connu pour ses performances live sauvages, avec des visuels d’une intensité extrême et des pitreries scéniques dangereuses.

Oliver Ackermann formed A Place To Bury Strangers in Brooklyn, New York in 2003. He has written, produced, mixed, and mastered all five A Place To Bury Strangers albums and numerous EPs. He has relentlessly toured the world for 13 years with various bandmates. A fierce and legendary live band, APTBS is known for wild live performances filled with beyond intense visuals and dangerous stage antics.

Cut Worms au Bar Le Ritz PDB

Les centres commerciaux ont fermé leurs portes, les vestiaires sont remplis de fantômes et le manège est couvert de toiles d’araignée. Nobody Lives Here Anymore, le dernier et le meilleur de Max Clarke sous le nom de Cut Worms, est la rêverie hantée d’un paysage américain dans et hors de l’esprit de Clarke. Enregistré entre mai et novembre 2019 à Memphis, dans le Tennessee, l’album est une boule à neige de la musique populaire du milieu du XXe siècle remplie de guitares carillonnantes, de pianos honkey tonk et d’orgues Telstar.

The shopping malls have closed down, the dressing rooms are filled with ghosts, and the carousel is covered in cobwebs. Nobody Lives Here Anymore, the latest and greatest from Max Clarke as Cut Worms, is the haunted reverie of an American landscape in-and-out of Clarke’s mind. Recorded between May and November 2019 in Memphis, Tennessee, the album is a snow globe of the mid-twentieth-century’s popular music filled with chiming guitars, honkey tonk pianos, and Telstar organs.

En pleine ascension sur la scène dark wave et gothique, Patriarchy (Los Angeles) a été remixé par toutes sortes de célébrités musicales, dont Drab Majesty, Geneva Jacuzzi, ADULT, Light Asylum et même des membres de This Mortal Coil et Nitzer Ebb. Ce groupe est en train d’exploser rapidement, alors allez les voir au Bar Le Ritz tant que vous le pouvez !

M!R!M , une synth pop sombre aux mélodies sincères, a été remixée par KVB , Bleib Modern et Korine. Ils seront en tournée avec KVB juste avant de venir au Canada pour cette série de spectacles spéciaux. M!R!M ! a sorti des disques avec Fabrika et Avant ! et a tourné dans toute l’Europe.

Subterranean Lovers est dirigé par l’auteur-compositeur Nikki Nevver (du groupe de synth pop Terror Bird), qui crée des paysages sonores dramatiques avec un gigantesque groupe d’influence glam et expérimentale comprenant des instruments rock et orchestraux. Subterranean Lovers enregistre avec Jordan Koop, un protégé de Steve Albini. Leur dernier single, « Brilliant Things », a été masterisé par Jason Corbett du groupe Actors.

M!R!M , dark synth pop with heartfelt melodies has been remixed by KVB , Bleib Modern and Korine. They will be touring with KVB just before coming to Canada for this series of special shows. M!R!M! has released records with Fabrika and Avant! and toured all over Europe.

Subterranean Lovers is led by songwriter Nikki Nevver (of synth pop band Terror Bird), creating dramatic soundscapes with a gigantic glam and experimental influenced band featuring rock and orchestral instruments. Subterranean Lovers records with Jordan Koop, a protege of Steve Albini. Their newest single, « Brilliant Things » was mastered by Jason Corbett of the band Actors.

Nous avons rencontré le personnage en 2016 à travers son manifeste enivrant enregistré sur 4 pistes ‘Goodnight’, une collision tête à tête en 24 heures de romance illusoire et d’évasion des temps modernes.

Whitney K is the wandering stalwart Konner Whitney, a Whitehorse Yukon resident who has spent time in Vancouver, Montreal, Burnaby and Los Angeles. We met the character in 2016 through his intoxicating 4-track recorded manifesto ‘Goodnight’, a head on collision into 24 hours of illusioned romance and modern day escapism.

Tomberlin au Bar le Ritz PDB

Tomberlin c’est Sarah Beth Tomberlin, une fille de pasteur née en Floride, élevée dans l’Illinois rural. Elle a écrit la majorité de ses débuts alors qu’elle vivait chez ses parents. Pendant un certain temps après avoir quitté la maison et l’église, elle a vécu à Louisville, dans le Kentucky. Elle avait un travail de jour et continuait à écrire des chansons. Elle a posté certaines de ces chansons sur Bandcamp, ce qui l’a amenée à signer un contrat avec Saddle Creek et à enregistrer son premier album, At Weddings. Tout s’est passé très vite : Moins d’un an après son premier concert, elle a participé à l’émission de Jimmy Kimmel et a fini par déménager à Los Angeles, où elle a écrit Projections (2020), son EP qui fait suite à At Weddings, bien qu’elle l’ait enregistré à Philadelphie.

Tomberlin is Sarah Beth Tomberlin, a pastor’s kid born in Florida, raised in rural Illinois. She wrote the majority of her debut while living at home. For a while after leaving home and church, she lived in Louisville, Kentucky. She worked a day job and kept writing songs. She posted some of these songs to Bandcamp, which led to her signing a record deal with Saddle Creek, and her debut album, At Weddings. It all happened fast: Less than a year after her first live show, she performed on Jimmy Kimmel and she ended up moving to L.A. which is where she wrote Projections (2020), her EP followup to At Weddings, though she recorded it in Philadelphia.

Sur Peacock Pools – le premier album de Pink Mountaintops en huit ans -, le chanteur, compositeur et multi-instrumentiste originaire de la Colombie-Britannique présente 12 chansons nées de sa curiosité pour un large éventail d’artefacts culturels : l’horreur corporelle de science-fiction de David Cronenberg, les disques Disney Read-Along des années 1970, les premiers Pink Floyd et Gary Numan en milieu de carrière, les films de John Carpenter, les vidéos live d’Ornette Coleman, un essai de 1991 sur le culte du bodybuilding par la féministe postmoderne Camille Paglia.
