Dès qu’elle a commencé à écrire son nouvel album, Michelle Zauner, de Japanese Breakfast, a su qu’elle voulait l’appeler Jubilee. Après tout, un jubilé est une célébration du passage du temps – un festival pour inaugurer l’espoir d’une nouvelle ère en technicolor. Adekunle Gold est un auteur-compositeur-interprète d’origine nigérienne, basé entre Lagos, au Nigeria, et Los Angeles, en Californie. Il s’est fait connaître dès sa toute première sortie, “Sade”, une chanson d’amour qui samplait des instrumentaux de “Story of My Life” de One Direction. Seulement deux semaines après la sortie de “Sade”, le 19 décembre 2014, Adekunle a été contacté par l’un des plus grands actes d’Afrique, Olamide, pour rejoindre son empreinte musicale pendant deux ans, YBNL. Depuis lors, Adekunle a sorti 3 albums : Gold (qui a débuté à la 7e place du Billboard World Albums Chart), About 30 (présélectionné pour le GRAMMY® Best World Album), et AfroPop Vol 1 avec le disque à succès mondial “Okay” et “Something Different”.

Née d’origine dominicaine et élevée dans le New Jersey, elle a embrassé sa position d’aberration au lycée avec des prédispositions pour la poésie et le basket (son surnom “Shake” fait référence à un dribble croisé particulièrement méchant). Elle a trouvé sa place au sein du crew G.O.O.D. Music après qu’ils aient entendu son single indépendant “Proud”.
