TALK is the performing name of Canadian musician Nicholas Durocher, a throaty rock singer known for his heartfelt, space-themed ballad “Run Away to Mars.” After self-releasing the track in 2021, the acoustic rocker became a viral success the following year, eventually climbing to the top of Billboard’s Adult Alternative chart in early 2023. TALK relocated to Los Angeles and inked a deal with Capitol Records, which issued his full-length debut, Lord of the Flies & Birds & Bees, later that year.

New York’s X Ambassadors make passionate, electronic-tinged pop centered around the throaty, soulful vocals of Sam Harris. The group first gained buzz with their 2013 EP Love Songs Drug Songs, featuring the single “Unconsolable.” They gained widespread attention after hitting the Top Ten with their debut full-length, VHS, in 2015. That album hit number seven on the Billboard 200 and paved the way for 2019’s Orion. In 2021, X Ambassadors embarked on a collaborative project called (Eg), which found them working on songs with artists like Jensen McRae, Terrell Hines, and others before returning with the ambitious concept album The Beautiful Liar. Another collaboration, “Back to You,” arrived in 2022 with Lost Frequencies and Elley Duhé. In 2024, they paid tribute to their hometown of Ithaca, New York with Townie.

Giant Rooks are an indie rock band with a pop sensibility and an atmospheric sound who became stars in their native Germany before developing an international following. Often performing in English, the group’s arrangements blend organic and electronic elements. Their 2017 EP New Estate introduced fans to their streamlined sound, and a 2019 cover of “Tom’s Diner” (a collaboration with AnnenMayKantereit) became a massive success in Europe. An added layer of production polish on their first full-length album, 2020’s Rookery, made their songs even more user-friendly, and 2024’s How Have You Been? added a romantic vibe to several of their songs.

A unique presence in contemporary R&B, Mariah the Scientist offers highly personal narratives in a cinematic if relatable fashion with her gracefully burning vocals. Emerging in 2018 with an EP uploaded to SoundCloud, the Atlanta native quickly attracted major-label attention, and within a few years was behind a handful of RCA projects, namely Master (2019), Ry Ry World (2021), and the four-track Buckles Laboratories Presents: The Intermission (2022). Mariah then moved to Epic with To Be Eaten Alive (2023) and immediately scored her first Billboard 200 entry, cracking the chart’s upper half with help from the measured slow jam “From a Woman.”

Cole, JID, EarthGang, and Young Nudy. In 2021, he released “The Jackie,” also featuring J. Cole along with Lil Tjay, and in 2022 he issued the EP [BUMP] Pick Me Up. He concluded 2023 with the full-length We Only Talk About Real Shit When We’re Fucked Up.
