Ramon Chicharron

Ramon Chicharron fusionne des rythmes latins comme la cumbia, le dembow et la champeta avec une touche montréalaise, créant un son à la fois moderne et original. Ses concerts, débordants d’énergie, sont animés par des rythmes entraînants qui font danser le public. Son dernier album, Niebla, sorti à l’automne 2024 et nommé aux prix Junos, a été composé entre la jungle pacifique de la Colombie et les montagnes laurentiennes du Québec. Lauréat à deux reprises des Latin Awards Canada pour l’Album de l’année et du Félix Album de l’année – Musiques du monde à l’ADISQ, Ramon a fait des tournées importantes, notamment à SXSW, au Festival de Jazz de Montréal, ainsi qu’à travers la Colombie et les États-Unis.

Ramon Chicharron blends Latin rhythms such as cumbia, dembow, and champeta with a Montreal twist, creating a sound that is both modern and original. His high-energy concerts are driven by infectious rhythms that get the crowd dancing. His latest album, Niebla, released in the fall of 2024 and nominated for Juno Awards, was composed between the Pacific jungle of Colombia and the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec. A two-time winner at the Latin Awards Canada for Album of the Year and the Félix Award for World Music Album of the Year at ADISQ, Ramon has toured extensively, including performances at SXSW, the Montreal Jazz Festival, as well as across Colombia and the United States.

Kizaba

Lionel KIZABA, auteur-compositeur-interprète, Révélation Radio-Canada 2024-2025, est un multi-instrumentiste et pionnier de la musique électro-congolaise basé à Montréal. Québécois d’origine congolaise et citoyen canadien, il a su tracer un parcours musical unique, invitant un large public international à voyager dans son univers artistique futuriste.
Fusionnant le français, l’anglais, le kikongo et le lingala, ses compositions transcendent les barrières linguistiques et culturelles. Fier de ses racines africaines et de son identité canadienne, il fait rayonner ses cultures à travers le monde.
Son album « Kizavibe » a été salué par la critique et nommé aux Juno Awards 2024, notamment dans la catégorie Album de musique du monde de l’année. Il a également été nommé aux Prix Dynastie dans les catégories Artiste ou groupe international de l’année, Artiste ou groupe de musique du monde de l’année et Artiste ou groupe francophone de l’année, ainsi qu’aux GAMIQ dans la catégorie Album/EP World.
En 2022, il a entamé sa première tournée aux États-Unis, se produisant sur la scène principale du légendaire New Orleans Jazz Festival, aux côtés d’artistes de renom tels que Lionel Richie, CeeLo Green, Charlie Wilson et The Foo Fighters.

Kizaba marie habilement les vocalises ancestrales aux sonorités vibrantes du soukous congolais et de l’afrobeat, le tout porté par une esthétique afro-punk et une vision musicale futuriste.
Avec la sortie de son nouvel album « Future Village » le 12 avril 2025, il nous plonge dans une dimension musicale inédite, toujours mêlée de traditions ancestrales et de modernité électrisant. Il présentera en performance live ses deux albums, « Kizavibe » et « Future Village », lors de sa participation au WOMEX 2025 à Tampere, en Finlande, le 25 octobre 2025, dans le cadre de l’un des plus grands salons professionnels de l’industrie musicale mondiale.

Lionel KIZABA, singer-songwriter and Radio-Canada Revelation for 2024-2025, is a multi-instrumentalist and pioneer of electro-Congolese music based in Montreal. A Quebecer of Congolese origin and Canadian citizen, he has carved out a unique musical path, inviting a wide international audience to explore his futuristic artistic universe.
Blending French, English, Kikongo, and Lingala, his compositions transcend linguistic and cultural barriers. Proud of his African roots and Canadian identity, he showcases his cultures to the world.
His album Kizavibe has been critically acclaimed and nominated for the 2024 Juno Awards, including in the World Music Album of the Year category. He has also been nominated at the Dynastie Awards in the categories of International Artist or Group of the Year, World Music Artist or Group of the Year, and Francophone Artist or Group of the Year, as well as at the GAMIQ Awards in the World Album/EP category.

Umurutasaté

Umurutasaté est une auteure-compositrice-interprète originaire du Rwanda, exprimant son talent en huit langues et autant d’univers musicaux. Elle manie les rythmes et mélodies de ses ancêtres avec une voix suave et envoûtante. Sa musique, urbaine et métissée, est doublement influencée, aussi bien par les mélodies traditionnelles africaines que par celles occidentales, particulièrement le Jazz et le Reggae. Après une maîtrise en science politique, une vie professionnelle loin de la musique, Umurutasaté décide de répondre à l’appel de la musique depuis 2019.

Umurutasaté is a singer-songwriter from Rwanda, expressing her talent in eight languages and just as many musical worlds. She weaves the rhythms and melodies of her ancestors with a smooth, captivating voice. Her urban, cross-cultural music is shaped by a double influence: traditional African melodies and Western sounds, particularly Jazz and Reggae. After completing a master’s degree in political science and pursuing a professional life away from music, Umurutasaté chose to answer the call of music in 2019.

Nora toutain

Auteure-compositrice-interprète franco-marocaine de Montréal, Nora navigue dans un style éclectique et une fusion subtile entre rétro-soul, afro-jazz et pop, faisant écho à la multiplicité des univers culturels dans lesquels elle a baigné. Ses performances, portées par des rythmes ancestraux africains et amazighs associés à des sonorités soul, jazz et pop, offrent une véritable modernité à son héritage multiculturel et font d’elle une artiste qui se dit avec aisance en trois langues, français, arabe et anglais, lui permettant de créer ces passerelles musicales mais aussi humaines entre les peuples et les cultures.

Montreal-based Franco-Moroccan singer-songwriter Nora moves within an eclectic style, blending retro-soul, afro-jazz, and pop, reflecting the multiple cultural worlds that have shaped her. Her performances, driven by ancestral African and Amazigh rhythms combined with soul, jazz, and pop sounds, bring a modern dimension to her multicultural heritage. Hendry Massamba

Originaire du Congo, Hendry Massamba est un musicien et percussionniste engagé dans une quête de transmission et de valorisation des langues anciennes africaines. À travers une musique dynamique, festive et rythmée, il cherche à éveiller les consciences et à créer des ponts entre l’héritage africain et les enjeux contemporains et mêle musicalement des sonorités traditionnelles à des influences modernes. Avec cette approche, Hendry Massamba aspire à offrir au public une expérience à la fois festive et introspective, où la musique devient un vecteur de changement et de réconciliation entre passé et présent.

Originally from Congo, Hendry Massamba is a musician and percussionist dedicated to preserving and promoting ancient African languages. Through dynamic, festive, and rhythmic music, he seeks to raise awareness and build bridges between African heritage and contemporary issues, blending traditional sounds with modern influences. With this approach, Hendry Massamba aims to offer audiences an experience that is both celebratory and introspective, where music becomes a vehicle for change and reconciliation between past and present.

Raíz Viva

Le nom Raíz Viva, « racine vivante » en français, symbolise l’engagement du groupe à honorer son héritage de racines africaines et indigènes qui ont sculpté la musique latino-américaine et à faire partie de l’évolution de la musique et de ses traditions. Leur démarche artistique vise à tisser des liens avec ces traditions venues du monde entier afin d’enrichir leurs créations musicales et promouvoir la diversité culturelle mondiale.

The name Raíz Viva, meaning “living root” in French, reflects the group’s commitment to honoring their African and Indigenous roots that have shaped Latin American music, while actively participating in the evolution of music and its traditions. Their artistic approach seeks to forge connections with these global traditions to enrich their musical creations and promote cultural diversity worldwide.

Marcia

Trois musiciennes de la relève jazz montréalaise, Adele Levayer (flûte traversière et flûte alto), Julie Morisod (voix) et Mikhael Doudi (guitare) se réunissent depuis plus de deux ans, animées d’abord par l’exploration du vaste répertoire de la musique brésilienne, puis par la création collective autours d’influences communes: le jazz moderne et les rythmes brésiliens du nord-est du Brésil. De cette union est né Marcia. Inclassable, le jazz de Marcia est métissé, hybride et mouvant, à l’image des multiples parcours de ces artistes . Trio à l’instrumentation rare, Marcia se démarque sur scène par la symbiose et la sincérité musicale qui se dégagent des pièces. Le groupe a déjà eu l’occasion de partager sa musique au Québec mais également en Europe (France, Belgique, Suisse et Allemagne). Après deux années de complicité et de développement artistique, Marcia est fière de sortir son premier album de musique originale à l’été 2025.

Three emerging jazz musicians from Montreal, Adele Levayer (flute and alto flute), Julie Morisod (voice), and Mikhael Doudi (guitar), have been collaborating for over two years, initially driven by the exploration of the vast Brazilian music repertoire and later by collective creation around shared influences: modern jazz and the rhythms of northeastern Brazil. From this union was born Marcia.
Unclassifiable, Marcia’s jazz is mixed, hybrid, and fluid, reflecting the diverse paths of its members. As a trio with a rare instrumentation, Marcia stands out on stage for the musical symbiosis and sincerity that emanate from their pieces. The group has had the opportunity to share its music both in Quebec and in Europe (France, Belgium, Switzerland, and Germany). After two years of artistic collaboration and growth, Marcia is proud to release its first album of original music in the summer of 2025.

Irem Bekter

De son enfance à Istanbul, à ses années en Angleterre en passant par deux décennies en Argentine, jusqu’au Québec, sa dernière terre d’accueil, chaque étape avec une nouvelle langue, une nouvelle culture, fut une nouvelle couche à son identité qui se reflète profondément dans sa musique.
Son dernier album, This Winding Road marque une révélation audacieuse de ses œuvres originales.
Sa musique, imprégnée de rythmes turcs et argentins, de pop britannique et d’électro, en tout respect de la société distincte qu’est le Québec français, évoque les époques, les lieux et les personnes qui ont marqué son parcours, de façon profondément personnelle et singulière.

From his childhood in Istanbul, to his years in England, through two decades in Argentina, and finally to Quebec, his current home, each stage, each new language and culture, added a layer to his identity that resonates deeply in his music.
His latest album, This Winding Road, represents a bold revelation of his original work. His music, infused with Turkish and Argentine rhythms, British pop, and electronic elements, while honoring the unique culture of French-speaking Quebec, evokes the eras, places, and people who have shaped his journey in a deeply personal and singular way.

Lasso

Salif Sanou, dit Lasso, est né dans une famille griotte du Burkina Faso. Il découvre très tôt ses talents pour plusieurs instruments traditionnels et pour le chant mais surtout développe une passion et une habileté incroyable pour la flûte peule (flûte mandingue ou encore flûte à parler). Arrivé au Québec en 2009, Lasso se produit dans plusieurs événements majeurs dont l’ouverture des Jeux Olympiques à Vancouver et de nombreux grands festivals. Avec ses musiciens, il fait naître un genre musical nommé FRAMM créant une fusion Reggae, afro-mandingue métissée.

Salif Sanou, known as Lasso, was born into a griot family in Burkina Faso. He discovered early on his talent for several traditional instruments and singing, but above all developed a remarkable passion and skill for the Fulani flute (Mandingue flute or “talking flute”). Arriving in Quebec in 2009, Lasso has performed at numerous major events, including the opening of the Vancouver Olympic Games and many large festivals. Alongside his musicians, he created a musical genre called FRAMM, a fusion of Reggae and Afro-Mandingue influences.

Meryem Saci

Meryem Saci est une chanteuse, autrice-compositrice né à Alger dont la voix vibrante reflète les influences multiples de son parcours. Son nouvel album est un véritable voyage sonique entre l’Afrique du Nord et l’occident. Une fusion de styles RnB, HipHop, Soul avec une touche de Chaabi algérien, Gnawa et electro. Le tout en 3 langues, entre chant et rap. Une rencontre entre les rythmes traditionnels et les productions digitales. Ses thèmes expriment l’expérience de déracinement, d’identité et les combats sociaux et internes le tout saupoudrés de chansons d’amour et de résilience. Elle s’est produite dans de nombreux festivals et tournées au Canada et en Europe. Elle a été invitée sur le dernier album du groupe IAM et ses pièces se retrouvent dans des séries télévisées très populaires.

Meryem Saci is a singer-songwriter born in Algiers, whose vibrant voice reflects the diverse influences of her journey. Her latest album is a true sonic voyage between North Africa and the West, blending RnB, Hip-Hop, and Soul with touches of Algerian Chaabi, Gnawa, and electronic music. Sung and rapped in three languages, her music brings together traditional rhythms and digital production.
Her lyrics explore experiences of uprooting, identity, and social and personal struggles, all while weaving in themes of love and resilience. She has performed at numerous festivals and tours across Canada and Europe, was featured on the latest album by the group IAM, and her songs have been included in widely popular television series.

Floric Kim

Originaire du Congo, Floric Kim est un artiste polyvalent qui incarne la nouvelle vague de la créativité africaine. Il porte un regard novateur sur la scène musicale dans une démarche qui se veut célébration de l’Afrique moderne, en dialogue constant avec ses racines. Il s’imprègne des rythmes afrobeat, soul et de musiques traditionnelles africaines pour créer un univers sonore qui transcende les frontières. Sa démarche artistique aspire à refléter l’évolution de la culture africaine contemporaine, tout en restant enracinée dans des valeurs patrimoniales fortes.

Originally from Congo, Floric Kim is a versatile artist who embodies the new wave of African creativity. He brings an innovative perspective to the music scene, celebrating modern Africa while maintaining a constant dialogue with his roots. Drawing from Afrobeat, Soul, and traditional African music, he creates a sonic universe that transcends borders. His artistic approach seeks to reflect the evolution of contemporary African culture while remaining deeply rooted in strong heritage values.

Abdel Grooz

Abdel Grooz, artiste polyvalent, né dans le sud-ouest algérien dans une famille de grands maîtres de musique qui nourrissent sa passion, s’installe au Québec et crée son propre projet Grooz qui mêle groove et jazz. Son second album Zarbia connaît un grand succès dans le cadre de tournées en Europe, aux États-Unis, en Australie et au Maghreb. Le groupe fusionne des instruments occidentaux avec un répertoire ancestral, tout en intégrant des sonorités reggae, blues, rock et jazz.

Abdel Grooz, a versatile artist born in southwestern Algeria into a family of master musicians who nurtured his passion, settled in Quebec and created his own project, Grooz, blending groove and jazz. His second album, Zarbia, achieved great success during tours in Europe, the United States, Australia, and the Maghreb. The group fuses Western instruments with an ancestral repertoire while incorporating elements of Reggae, Blues, Rock, and Jazz.

Nadine Altounji offers a captivating musical odyssey, exploring landscapes from Peru to Syria and capturing the essence of Montreal’s unique cultural fusion. The melodies of her oud and guitar intertwine with the darbuka, cajón, and captivating folk and pop nuances. Through two EPs, she blends Peruvian styles with African rhythms while deepening her Syrian heritage, forging a profound connection with her audience and inviting them to immerse themselves in her musical world.

Sena The Queen

Sena The Queen est une poète dans l’âme qui vous emporte entre poésie, blues et slam.
Elle commence à écrire dès l’âge de 11 ans et la piqûre des mots ne la quitte plus, la faisant naviguer entre poésie, chansons et textes philosophiques. En février 2021, elle remporte le prix “meilleur poète” du Festival Jeunesse Afro-Québécois (FJAQ). En décembre 2022, elle organise son tout premier spectacle, Rhythm and Poetry, au Vieux-Port, accompagnée de 4 autres artistes. Ce premier show est un succès et depuis lors, elle organise un événement chaque année qui est fort attendu.

Sena The Queen is a poet at heart, carrying audiences through poetry, blues, and slam. She began writing at the age of 11, and her passion for words has never left her, guiding her through poetry, songs, and philosophical texts. In February 2021, she won the “Best Poet” award at the Festival Jeunesse Afro-Québécois (FJAQ). In December 2022, she organized her very first show, Rhythm and Poetry, at the Old Port, accompanied by four other artists. The debut performance was a success, and since then, she has been hosting an eagerly anticipated annual event.

Boubé

Né au Niger, Boubé a grandi dans le village d’Iferouane berceau du plus important festival de musique Touareg, ce blues du désert chanté par les nomades berbères. Il part déjà en tournée dès l’âge de 13 ans avec différents groupes africains puis s’installe à Montréal. Certains le nomment le Jimi Hendrix du Sahara en raison de sa fougue sur scène, de son jeu de guitare singulier de virtuose. Récipiendaire du prix Afropop et du prix Argent des Syli d’Or, il a fait la tournée des festivals de musique du monde à l’été 2024.

Born in Niger, Boubé grew up in the village of Iferouane, the birthplace of the region’s most important Tuareg music festival, a desert blues sung by Berber nomads. He began touring at the age of 13 with various African bands before settling in Montreal. Often called the “Jimi Hendrix of the Sahara” for his fiery stage presence and virtuoso guitar playing, Boubé has received the Afropop Award and the Silver Syli d’Or Award. He toured world music festivals in the summer of 2024.

Boogát

Boogát est une des valeurs sûres de la scène de Musique Globale du Québec, avec une proposition festive et innovatrice Que ce soit en Espagnol, en Français ou en Anglais, il rappe et chante l’universalité en abordant les thèmes de l’identité, de la migration, de l’appartenance, à travers des textes oscillants entre sérieux et humour, poussant à la réflexion. Francbâtards

En s’inspirant du concept de Batarsité, propre au poète et chanteur réunionnais Danyèl Waro, Francbâtards tire son nom des origines francophones diverses des membres du groupe : Québec, île de La Réunion et île Maurice. Ces différents horizons musicaux provoquent un mélange de genres allant du Ska à l’Afrobeat en passant par le Rap, le funk et le Reggae.
Outre les trois tournées européennes, Francbâtards a plus d’une fois eu l’occasion de se démarquer dans divers vitrines et festivals majeurs au Québec et de porter vers les publics leur ragga à sonorités balkanes, jazz au rythme réunionnais ou ska aux allures d’afrobeat.

Inspired by the concept of Batarsité, coined by Réunionese poet and singer Danyèl Waro, Francbâtards takes its name from the diverse Francophone origins of its members: Quebec, Réunion Island, and Mauritius. These varied musical backgrounds create a fusion of genres, ranging from Ska to Afrobeat, with elements of Rap, Funk, and Reggae.
In addition to three European tours, Francbâtards has repeatedly stood out at major showcases and festivals in Quebec, bringing their music to audiences with ragga infused with Balkan sounds, jazz with a Réunionese rhythm, and ska with Afrobeat flair.

FIJM | Stella Cole: From Tik Tok to The Biggest Jazz Stages

For her first appearance at the Festival international de Jazz de Montréal, Stella Cole was accompanied by her equally talented double bassist, drummer and pianist. In front of a packed Studio TD, the New York-based American appeared all dressed in red.

After a purely instrumental first song, she took to the stage and immediately introduced her pianist in the first song, followed by the other musicians in the third and fourth. She gave her musicians space, almost in every song, to do their respective solos, while she mastered her voice perfectly.

“It’s my first time in Montreal, I haven’t seen much of the city yet, but I’ve got all day tomorrow, so if you’ve got any recommendations, I’d love to hear them,” she advises, between songs.

This singer, who became hooked on music thanks to films such as The Wizard of Oz, with which she was obsessed from the age of three, loves to perform the greatest jazz classics. Her voice is so reminiscent of the artists of the ’60s and ’70s that you sometimes feel you’re taking a musical trip back in time to New York. Her covers of “Singing in the Rain,” “It’s Magic,” and “Cry Me a River” are all brilliant, with the instruments sometimes communicating with each other.

Her second album, It’s Magic, is due for release at the end of the summer, but we were treated to one of its tracks, released the day before the show, “Till There Was You,” on Decca Records.

The lighting scheme seemed to go very well with her red outfit, shifting from red to blue, depending on the song and the mood. She alludes to the film Casablanca, which marked her youth, but my favourite moment is her rendition of “I must have done something good.”

“But I want to move here,” she joked, after an audience member offered her a bouquet of flowers after the 2nd song. Well, I must admit that her interpretation of “Perhaps” was remarkable. That said, she doesn’t move much on stage, except to let her musicians shine when she steps aside a little, but other than that, she seems a little shy. One thing’s for sure: this young brunette with a contagious smile charmed the Montreal audience, many of whom queued long and hard to get into the TD Studio free of charge.

Francos | GreenWoodz, The Aura of a Rockstar

Despite a change of direction towards a more folksy, laid-back sound on his most recent album, GreenWoodz had promised a “wicked party” for his launch party. The promise was kept: the rapper set Studio TD alight with his new songs, not forgetting his classics.

The Mandeville native was charismatic from the outset. Sporting a leather jacket and jeans, GreenWoodz has the aura of a rockstar. And when you say rockstar, you say crowd-pleaser: from start to finish, the audience in front of the stage was singing along to every one of his songs, word for word.

The evidence is striking: he maintains a special connection with those who listen to him. The launch quickly takes on the air of a great evening with friends. Throughout the party, he engaged in countless exchanges with those present, even going so far as to descend into the room on two occasions – notably for the excellent Lucifer, from his new opus.

Alongside him were a drummer, a guitarist alternating between electric and acoustic, and Cook Da Beatz, DJ and long-time accomplice. It’s on stage that the emo-rap influence that runs through his discography is fully revealed. Melancholy, love and sadness are the order of the day.

Halfway through the set, GreenWoodz approaches the audience and sits down on a small stool. He is about to perform Tommy, a poignant tribute to a friend who left too soon. Illuminated by telephone flashlights, the 7ième Ciel rapper delivers this track masterfully, bringing to life one of the most moving moments of the evening.

Fans at Studio TD were also treated to four special guests. Shreez, Rymz, Souldia and Aswell all took to the stage to perform their respective collaborations. The latter’s appearance for their track IDGAF confirmed that local hip-hop is in very good hands with these two men.

GreenWoodz delivered a generous, vibrant and flawless show. A launch in the image of its evolution.

Festival de Jazz – Brazil’s Luedji Luna Brings The Snow to Montreal

Despite the first snowfall of the season, this didn’t stop music lovers from coming to Studio TD to see Bahian singer Luedji Luna. Not her first time in the metropolis, but a first in this venue. “I remember when I first came to Montreal, it was for the Festival de Jazz, outdoors,” she recalls. Most of the songs were taken from her third album Bom Mesmo é Estar Debaixo d’Àgua Deluxe, with a track of the same name. Accompanied by her musicians – drums, bass, keyboards and percussion – she took to the stage wearing an electric grey dress. With her unique blend of jazz, Afro-Brazilian rhythms, soul and RnB, she offers us a Brazilian version of some of the classics that rocked our youth. She opens with Metàfora, which sounds like something straight out of the 90s, and Pele, on which she collaborated with Ethiopian artist Mereba, who wasn’t there but whose voice we heard.

She covers two classics during her show, Sade’s No Ordinary Love and a track by Brazilian artist Djavan, but adds her own touch to it. In fact, she launched the “Luedji Sings Sade” concept in Brazil. Of course, she couldn’t leave without performing the song that marked a turning point in her career, Banho de Folhas, to which she invites the crowd to dance, much to their delight.

The opening act was Glowzi, a DJ/singer accompanied by a trumpet player, and together they set the perfect mood to welcome Luedji, mixing soul, electro, RnB and jazz. They also took the opportunity to send a message of solidarity to Palestine, Darfur and the Tigray region.

Katatonia at Studio TD

We are all, as Oscar Wilde once so famously remarked, in the gutter. However, some of us are looking at the stars. On their latest journey Sky Void of Stars, Swedish grand seigneurs of gloom Katatonia solemnly set the stage for a nocturne both crushing and exhilarating; for it is only in the absence of stars that we can truly shine.

Carving their way from their nineties gothic-tinged doom metal to the ethereal post-metal entity they are today, the band led by founding members Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström have always been and will forevermore be one thing—a vessel of deep emotion; shrouded in Scandinavian despair and a universal longing for salvation.

Nous sommes tous, comme l’a si bien dit Oscar Wilde, dans le caniveau. Cependant, certains d’entre nous regardent les étoiles. Sur leur dernier album Sky Void of Stars, les grands seigneurs suédois de la morosité Katatonia plantent solennellement le décor d’un nocturne à la fois écrasant et exaltant, car ce n’est qu’en l’absence d’étoiles que l’on peut vraiment briller.

Passant du doom metal gothique des années 90 à l’entité post-metal éthérée qu’il est aujourd’hui, le groupe mené par les membres fondateurs Jonas Renkse et Anders Nyström a toujours été et sera toujours une chose : un vaisseau d’émotions profondes, enveloppé du désespoir scandinave et d’un désir universel de salut.

Unleash The Archers a été formé en 2007 par la chanteuse Brittney Slayes et son partenaire et batteur Scott Buchanan, alors qu’ils étudiaient à l’université de Victoria sur l’île de Vancouver en Colombie-Britannique. En mêlant l’agressivité des genres les plus extrêmes aux subtilités du heavy metal traditionnel, UTA a créé un son unique en son genre. Ils adoptent un attrait commercial qui attire les amateurs de musique de tous les types, tout en conservant un côté heavy qui reste fidèle à leurs racines death metal.

Unleash The Archers were formed in 2007 by front-woman Brittney Slayes, together with her partner and the band’s drummer Scott Buchanan, while attending the University of Victoria on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. By weaving the aggression of the more extreme genres into the intricacies of traditional heavy metal, UTA have created a sound unlike anything else in the industry. They embrace a commercial appeal that attracts music lovers of all types while maintaining a heavy edge that remains true to their death metal roots.

Le trio montréalais Le Couleur, créé par Laurence Giroux-Do, Patrick Gosselin et Steeven Chouinard, s’est d’abord propulsé, grâce à un son électro-pop aussi brillant que les lumières du défunt Studio 54, avec les EPs Voyage Love (2013) et Dolce Désir (2015), suivis des encensés P.O.P. (2016) et Concorde (2020).

Avec ses performances riches et irrésistiblement dansantes, Le Couleur offre des spectacles décadents et dynamiques – pleins d’une énergie exaltante. En plus de ses 4 tournées européennes (UK, FR, IT), le trio, qui a plus de 100 dates à son actif, a fait des passages remarqués à SXSW (US), Sound City (UK), Fimpro (MX), etc.

Le Couleur a sorti son dernier album Comme dans un penthouse le 22 septembre 2023.

Jacques Schwarz-Bart a été au centre de plusieurs révolutions musicales : neo soul à côté de D’angelo et Erykah Badu, New Jazz en tant que membre fondateur de Roy Hargrove RH Factor. Il a créé deux nouveaux styles en plein essor: le Gwoka Jazz et le Voodoo Jazz, réunissant la musique jazz avec ses origines afro-caribéennes et spirituelles. L’écriture impressionniste de Jacques, son son puissant et son langage large – à la fois lyrique et angulaire – ont alimenté une présence croissante sur la scène mondiale.

Jacques Schwarz-Bart has been at the center of several musical revolutions: neo soul alongside D’angelo and Erykah Badu, New Jazz as a founding member of Roy Hargrove RH Factor. He created two new, fast-growing styles: Gwoka Jazz and Voodoo Jazz, bringing together jazz music with its Afro-Caribbean and spiritual origins. Jacques’ impressionistic writing, powerful sound and wide-ranging language – both lyrical and angular – have fueled a growing presence on the world stage.
