Domaine Forget : Francis Degrandpré

En moins de trois ans, l’auteur-compositeur-interprète Francis Degrandpré est passé de l’ami qui chante au bord du feu à un artiste accompli qui fait lever les foules aux quatre coins de la province. Avec un son new country francophone unique et une voix grave et profonde qui n’a rien à envier aux plus grands artistes country, Francis se démarque sur la scène musicale québécoise avec ses thèmes rassembleurs de chasse, de pêche, de nature et de bon temps entre amis.
Francis fait maintenant chanter les fans de country par milliers avec ses propres chansons et son deuxième album Se laisser aller, paru en septembre 2024, promet de faire voyager sa musique encore plus loin!
Il a remporté en 2023 le Félix de l’Album Country de l’année à l’ADISQ et a été récompensé trois fois lors du Gala Country pour Chanson de l’année, Album country contemporain et Auteur-compositeur de l’année.

In less than three years, singer-songwriter Francis Degrandpré has gone from being the friend who sings by the campfire to a seasoned artist raising crowds to their feet across the province. With his unique French-language new country sound and a deep, resonant voice that rivals the greatest country artists, Francis stands out on the Quebec music scene with unifying themes of hunting, fishing, nature, and good times with friends.
Today, Francis has thousands of country fans singing along to his own songs, and his second album, Se laisser aller, released in September 2024, promises to carry his music even further!
In 2023, he won the Félix Award for Country Album of the Year at the ADISQ Gala and was honored three times at the Gala Country for Song of the Year, Contemporary Country Album, and Songwriter of the Year.

Festival International du Domaine Forget : Concert d’ouverture – Hymne à la découverte

Ce concert met à l’honneur l’éclat et la virtuosité du répertoire romantique. L’Ouverture de La Sérénade de Sophie Gail, qui révèle tout le charme et la finesse d’une compositrice encore trop méconnue, précède le Concerto pour clarinette no 2 de Weber, où Carlos Ferreira déploie agilité, sensibilité et panache. Avec le monumental Concerto « Empereur » de Beethoven, Benedetto Lupo conclut le programme dans un sommet de grandeur et de liberté. Un véritable hymne à la découverte, sous la direction de Mathieu Lussier. Un rendez-vous à ne pas manquer pour les amateurs de grandes émotions musicales.

This concert celebrates the brilliance and virtuosity of the Romantic repertoire. The Overture to La Sérénade by Sophie Gail—an unjustly overlooked composer—reveals all the charm and finesse of her music. It is followed by Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No. 2, in which Carlos Ferreira showcases agility, sensitivity, and flair. The program concludes with Beethoven’s monumental “Emperor” Concerto, performed by Benedetto Lupo—a pinnacle of grandeur and freedom. A true hymn to discovery, conducted by Mathieu Lussier. A must-see for lovers of powerful musical emotions.

Festival International du Domaine Forget : Brahms et Les Violons du Roy

Ce concert est une invitation au voyage à travers les élans romantiques et les audaces classiques, porté par l’élégance des Violons du Roy.
Le concert s’ouvre avec l’énergie et la sensibilité de jeunes chefs stagiaires, qui dirigent trois ouvertures aussi contrastées que captivantes, signées Mozart, Beethoven et Fanny Mendelssohn. Puis, le violon de Kerson Leong se fait voix dans la tendre Romance en fa majeur de Beethoven. En seconde partie, place à la grandeur lyrique de Brahms avec sa Sérénade no 1 — une œuvre lumineuse, généreuse et profondément humaine.

This concert is an invitation to journey through romantic fervor and classical daring, carried by the elegance of Les Violons du Roy.
It opens with the energy and sensitivity of young apprentice conductors, who lead three overtures as contrasting as they are captivating—by Mozart, Beethoven, and Fanny Mendelssohn. Then, Kerson Leong’s violin becomes a voice in Beethoven’s tender Romance in F major. In the second half, the stage is set for the lyrical grandeur of Brahms, with his Serenade No. 1—a luminous, generous, and deeply human work.
