Patrick Krief

Vétéran de la scène musicale montréalaise, Patrick Krief publie de la musique depuis près de vingt ans, d’abord en tant que membre du groupe The Dears, puis dans le cadre de ses propres projets, notamment Black Diamond Bay, et, plus récemment, en tant qu’artiste solo. Sa musique évoque la riche tradition britannique des Beatles et le baryton sulfureux de Leonard Cohen.

A veteran of the Montreal music scene, Patrick Krief has been releasing music for nearly two decades, first as a member of The Dears then via his own projects including Black Diamond Bay and, more recently, as a solo artist.

Né dans le nord-est des États-Unis (il n’y a pas plus nord-est que le Maine), ayant grandi à Montréal, Canada (il n’y a pas plus cool), Mack MacKenzie a traversé des frontières durant toute sa vie créative Rock’n Roll. En tant qu’artiste solo et auteur-compositeur, chanteur et chef de file du groupe alt-country montréalais Three O’Clock Train, Mack a donné plus de 2 000 concerts dans tous les clubs rock, honky-tonk, théâtres et bars à travers les vastes étendues du Canada et des États-Unis.

Born in the northeastern U.S. (it doesn’t get more northeastern than Maine), raised in Montreal, Canada (it doesn’t get any cooler than that), Mack MacKenzie has crossed borders throughout his creative Rock ‘n Roll life. As a solo artist and songwriter, singer and frontman of Montreal alt-country band Three O’Clock Train, Mack has played over 2,000 gigs in rock clubs, honky-tonks, theaters and bars across the vast expanses of Canada and the United States.

Dès son arrivé à Montréal en 1990, Timothy Armstrong, membre de Brokenhead Ojibwé Nation à Manitoba, a été chanteur pour plusieurs groupes, ainsi que soliste pour le Peoples Gospel Choir de Montréal. Pendant son passage avec le Peoples Gospel Choir, il a monté sur scène avec plusieurs artistes appréciés du Québec, tel que Patrick Norman, Breen Lebœuf et Dan Bisgras. En tant qu’activiste des Premières Nations, il utilise sa musique pour mettre en lumière les enjeux touchant son peuple.

Since arriving in Montreal in 1990, Timothy Armstrong, a member of Manitoba’s Brokenhead Ojibwe Nation, has been a singer with several groups, as well as a soloist with Montreal’s Peoples Gospel Choir. During his time with the Peoples Gospel Choir, he performed with many of Quebec’s best-loved artists, including Patrick Norman, Breen Lebœuf and Dan Bisgras. As a First Nations activist, he uses his music to highlight the issues affecting his people.

Le Taverne Tour présente Mantisse & Dope.gng au Quai des brumes

Thomas Thivierge-Gauthier, connu sous l’alias de Mantisse au sein du groupe de rap montréalais LaF, est un auteur-compositeur-interprète de 25 ans qui travaille actuellement sur son premier effort en solo.

Bnjmn.lloyd, membre du même groupe, signe la production du projet dans lequel on peut reconnaître des sonorités hip-hop, jazz et un intérêt particulier pour la poésie et le lyrisme. À cela vient s’ajouter une trame narrative sonore de multiples musiciens, dont le jeu de guitare de Mantisse.

Thomas Thivierge-Gauthier, known as Mantisse in the Montreal rap group LaF, is a 25-year-old singer-songwriter currently working on his first solo effort.

Bnjmn.lloyd, a member of the same group, is producing the project, which features hip-hop, jazz and a particular interest in poetry and lyricism. To this is added a narrative soundtrack of multiple musicians, including the guitar playing of Mantisse.

Le Taverne Tour présente Bibi Club et Yocto

Au cœur d’une technique minimale et de compositions mélodieuses, Bibi Club œuvre sur des sonorités parfois brutes, mais dans lesquelles voix, guitares, synthétiseurs et drum machine sont explorés avec franchise. Le groupe finalise présentement la création de son premier long jeu, dont la sortie est prévue pour l’automne 2022 sur l’étiquette Secret City Records.

Déjà complices au sein de la formation IDALG, Jean-Michel Coutu et Yuki Berthiaume Tremblay proposent ici une musique aux échos post punk exotica, un space opera nerveux et polychrome. Yuki y entonne hymnes de rébellion, accompagnée de Jean-Michel à la guitare, Emmanuel Éthier (Chocolat) à la basse, Félix-Antoine Coutu à la batterie et Carl Matthieu Neher au V-orgue. Premier album à paraître au printemps 2023. Co-réalisé par Emmanuel Éthier (Corridor, Pierre Lapointe, P’tit Belliveau) et par Jean-Michel Coutu (Jesuslesfilles, CRABE), l’album Zepta Supernova propose une odyssée incisive où il est question d’astre enchaîné, d’obsession fatale, d’étau divin et de jugement dernier.

Lou is tall, but her voice is taller. Her vocal style has been described as a blend of Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, and more recently, Billie Holiday.

Lou Laurence’s style is jazzy blues-pop. Her songs combine simple blues-style dialogue with humor, love, and a deep, sweet, soul.

Her big vocal sound is accompanied by rhythmic home-modified baritone ukuleles (acoustic and electric).

Lou has played everywhere from large festivals to Montreal metro stations; dirty pubs to classy corporate gigs. Her performances combine storytelling with her songs rooted in raw emotion, witty lyrics, and catchy melodies.
