To kick off 2025, PAN M 360 asked several of its partners’ artistic directors to suggest their favorite albums of the past year.
A crucial player in Montreal’s indie revival, particularly on the rock side, Philippe Larocque is in high command of the label 🦋 @mothland, but also within the events 🐛 @distorsion_psychfest, 🤠 @tavernetour e 🔭 @fme_at Rouyn-Noranda. A fine talent scout, he is also a member of the PAN M 360 family, serving as one of its directors on the Board of Directors.
Cindy Lee – Diamond Jubilee
The album of the year for me. I’ve been fascinated by Cindy Lee’s work for years, and this latest opus is a masterpiece that came out of nowhere and became the album you always put in your ears when you go for a walk at night. It’s so dense that it still reveals itself every time I listen to it.
Kim Gordon – The Collective
I think it’s my favorite solo album by a member of Sonic Youth since the band split up. We took a little roadtrip to see her play at the Higher Ground in Burlington and it was one of the best shows I’ve been lucky enough to attend last year. I didn’t know what to expect but I was blown away, these songs are even stronger with a full band.
The Cure – Songs Of A Lost World
Been waiting for years to listen to new songs by The Cure and they did not disappoint. They are really aging with grace.
