Although we don’t reach the summit of Exile on Main St. this is undoubtedly one of the most coherent and typically Stones albums since Some Girls (1978). In short, the rock grandpas, who notably invited Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Stevie Wonder, are still capable of kicking ass! Just for the hope they give us in the face of shrinking time, that is immense. And imagine when the music is exhilarating.
