This first solo effort by the former Sonic Youth member is a total success. Superbly built and produced, No Home Record reveals both Gordon’s sonic aspect and her more abstract side, always with a good dose of experimentation and risk. It’s not far from the paths explored by Sonic Youth, but this time it’s Gordon who is solely in charge of the vocals. A nod to the Stooges, a fling with trap, some adventures in electronic territory… No Home Record is a wild, sexy, raging, sinister, dissonant, audacious and perfectly controlled exercise.
