Here’s the second album from Parisian Antoine Valentinelli, christened Lomepal for his pale, sickly complexion in his youth. Its title refers to his grandmother, who was schizophrenic. A mild rapper like his contemporary Nekfeu, Lomepal frequently leans to his singer-songwriter side — we’re not dealing with a virtuoso flow here. On production duties, in addition to Lomepal, we’ve got Mohave, Pierrick Devin, Stwo, Superpoze, VM The Don and the enigmatic Vladimir Cauchemar. The list of guests is all heavy hitters: Orelsan, Philippe Katerine, Roméo Elvis and JeanJass. To get a sense of where this album is coming from, just listen to “Dave Grohl”.
