Following a series of self-produced albums, singer-songwriter Alex Giannascoli moved from emerging-artist status to rising star of the indie scene, as journalists discovered to their surprise that he was on Frank Ocean’s Blond album in 2016. The year before, he released his first album for the English label Domino, which would propel his career. Inspired by the indie-rock wave of the 1990s and bands like Built to Spill and Modest Mouse, Alex G offers a unique sound, incorporating Auto-Tune, and even jazz influences on some pieces.
