Wombo
Trio énergique et stylistiquement ambitieux de Louisville qui fusionne pop, noise rock, psychédélisme et influences progressives. Leur deuxième album, Fairy Rust, a été salué par Pitchfork et UPROXX pour sa fusion envoûtante de lyrisme folklorique et de distorsion artistique. Le titre du dernier EP du groupe, Slab, évoque un dancefloor lunatique rythmé par une ligne de basse funky et des cordes grattées.

Poolgirl
Poolgirl est un nouveau groupe rock de cinq musiciens basé à Montréal. Le plus récent single de Poolgirl, « CHARITY », sorti en août 2024, démontre ce que le groupe fait de mieux : un rock amusant et énergique qui ne se prend pas trop au sérieux. Combinant des influences riot grrl et punk avec du rock indie mélodique, les spectacles de Poolgirl attirent toujours une foule amusante d’amis pour danser, faire des mosh pits et chanter (ou crier) avec eux.
Poolgirl is a new five piece rock band based in Montreal. Poolgirl’s most recent single “CHARITY”, released in August 2024, demonstrates what the band does best: fun, energetic rock that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Combining riot grrl and punk influences with melodic indie rock, Poolgirl shows consistently bring out a fun crowd of friends to dance, mosh and sing (or scream) along.
Ribbon Skirt
Dirigé par la musicienne Anishinaabe Tashiina Buswa, Ribbon Skirt est un groupe montréalais connu auparavant sous le nom de Love Language. Leur premier album, prévu pour le début de l’année 2025, présente un son plus sombre et plus introspectif, abordant les thèmes de la mémoire, du deuil et du lien de Buswa avec son identité indigène et ses pratiques culturelles. L’album a été produit par Scott ‘Monty’ Munro (Preoccupations) et Marlaena Moore.
Le groupe a participé à de grands festivals en Amérique du Nord inclus SXSW, Sled Island, Sappyfest, New Colossus et Pop Montréal, partageant la scène avec des groupes comme Dehd, Ombiigizi, Marnie Stern et Enumclaw.
Led by Anishinaabe musician Tashiina Buswa, Ribbon Skirt is a Montreal band formerly known as Love Language. Their debut album, scheduled for release in early 2025, features a darker, more introspective sound, addressing themes of memory, grief and Buswa’s connection to her indigenous identity and cultural practices. The album was produced by Scott ‘Monty’ Munro (Preoccupations) and Marlaena Moore.
The band has performed at major North American festivals including SXSW, Sled Island, Sappyfest, New Colossus and Pop Montreal, sharing the stage with bands such as Dehd, Ombiigizi, Marnie Stern and Enumclaw.
