Le groupe de metal américain Static-X propose un mélange agressif de thrash metal aux accents industriels et à l’énergie techno. Apparu à la fin des années 90 avec son premier album, Wisconsin Death Trip (1998), devenu culte, le groupe s’est rapidement imposé sur la scène metal, porté par l’image marquante de son frontman Wayne Static, reconnaissable à sa coiffure distinctive et à son style vocal unique. Après avoir poursuivi sur sa lancée dans les années 2000 avec des albums comme Machine et Shadow Zone, le groupe s’est retrouvé à l’arrêt après le décès de Static en 2014. Toutefois, au tournant de la décennie, la formation originale a fait un retour en force en utilisant des enregistrements vocaux et des compositions inédites de Static, publiant Project Regeneration, Vol. 1 en 2020, suivi de Vol. 2 en 2024.
