Pufty is originally from the southern Caribbean country of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He emigrated to Canada at the age of fourteen, beginning his musical career five years later with the West Can Folk Dancers, a group of Anglo-Caribbean dancers and drummers. He later formed a similar group called RIO FESTIVAL, which focused on the festive elements of the Brazilian carnival in Rio.

Feeling the need to express himself as a singer and songwriter, Pufty then joined the JAH CUTTER reggae bands and other similar groups. From then on, he began composing and arranging his own Soca songs, participating and sometimes winning local calypso contests in Montreal.

Pufty has opened for artists such as Mighty Sparrow, Calypso Rose, Machel Montano and many others. Pufty became a member of the renowned Vincentian Dynamite Calypso Tent based in New York City and performs for Caribbean audiences in North America.
