KT Laine
KT Laine est une étude de subtilité. Ses chansons dégagent une lueur positivement chaleureuse, doucement polie et sans hâte. Et même si ses performances semblent simples, ce sont aussi des pièces finement construites qui rappellent certains auteurs-compositeurs-interprètes contemporains partageant les mêmes idées (Angel Olsen, Cate Le Bon, Big Thief) autant que des légendes des années 60 et 70 comme Linda Perhacs, Sybille. Baier et Judee Sill. En live, les chansons prennent vie avec une présence scénique cool et recueillie, décontractée mais concentrée sur le laser, et traversées par la voix langoureuse de Laine et les apartés tout aussi doux entre les chansons.
KT Laine is a study in subtlety. Her songs radiate a positively warm glow, sweetly burnished and unhurried. And while her performances make them seem effortless, they are also finely constructed pieces that recall certain like-minded contemporary singer-songwriters (Angel Olsen, Cate Le Bon, Big Thief) as much as ’60s and ’70s legends like Linda Perhacs, Sybille Baier, and Judee Sill. Live, the songs are brought to life with a cool, collected stage presence, easygoing yet laser-focused, and cut through with Laine’s languid vocals and equally mellow between-song asides.
