Elle a collaboré avec tout le monde, d’Iggy Pop à Daft Punk en passant par Kim Gordon et Major Lazer, sa musique a été reprise en filigrane dans des émissions culturelles comme Lost In Translation, The Handmaid’s Tale et Broad City, entre autres, et son travail a été étudié dans des universités du monde entier.

PANGEA DE FUTURA est la créature du guitariste ERIC QUACH, mieux connu sous son pseudo Thisquietarmy (qui a ravi les amateurs de rock bruitiste au FIMAV 2021 en duo avec Michel « Away » Langevin). Celui-ci s’est entouré des membres de trois formations expérimentales de la métropole : Some Became Hollow Tubes, Black Givre et BLD.
SBHT, c’est QUACH et le batteur AIDAN GIRT de Godspeed You! Black Emperor en mode post-rock bourdonnant. SAMUEL BOBONY, d’Avec le Soleil Sortant de sa Bouche se produit depuis plusieurs années en solo batterie-électroniques sous le nom Black Givre. Quant au quintette BLD, il réunit une ligne de cuivres (REÜEL ORDOÑEZ, le tromboniste le plus psychédélique du Québec, plus les trompettistes VÉRONIQUE JANOSY et NEBOYSHA RAKIC) aux claviers de CHARLES BUSSIÈRES (Charly Buss d’En Fer) et à la batterie d’ERIC CRAVEN de Hrsta.
Depuis ses débuts en 2019, l’ensemble a travaillé sporadiquement, pandémie oblige. Gageons qu’il piaffe d’impatience de monter sur nos planches!

PANGEA DE FUTURA is the creature of guitarist ERIC QUACH, best known as Thisquietarmy (who ravished noise rock fans at FIMAV 2021 with Michel “Away” Langevin). QUACH brought into the fold three experimental bands from the metropole: Some Became Hollow Tubes, Black Givre and BLD.
SBHT is QUACH and Godspeed You! Black Emperor drummer AIDAN GIRT in drony post-rock mode. Avec le Soleil Sortant de sa Bouche’s SAMUEL BOBONY has been performing for many years now as the one-man drums-and-electronic unit Black Givre. The space jazz quintet BLD consists of a brass section (REÜEL ORDOÑEZ, Quebec’s most psychedelic trombone player, plus VÉRONIQUE JANOSY and NEBOYSHA RAKIC on trumpets), keyboards by CHARLES BUSSIÈRES (En Fer’s Charly Buss), and Hrsta’s ERIC CRAVEN on drums.
Since its inception in 2019, PANGEA DE FUTURA has worked only sporadically due to the pandemic. Let’s bet the band will be more than eager to sprawl over our stage!
Darius est un artiste français en pleine ascension, connu pour être l’un des premiers acteurs d’un récent mouvement de musique House prenant ses racines en France et se propageant rapidement dans le monde entier.
Infusé par les rythmes entraînants du Disco et du Funk, Darius ajoute une certaine complexité underground à sa musique, se plaçant aux côtés de ses compatriotes house à succès. Après son bijou “Maliblue”, Terrence N’Guyen a joué un rôle clé dans l’émergence de Cherokee sur la scène internationale.
Darius is an uprising French artist, known as an inaugural player of a recent House music movement taking its roots in France and quickly spreading around the world.
Infused by the uplifting beat of Disco and Funk, Darius add a certain underground intricacy to his music, setting himself alongside his successful house compatriots. After his standard setting jewel ‘Maliblue’, Terrence N’Guyen was a key part in bringing Cherokee to the international scene.
Daniel Romano est un producteur, multi-instrumentiste, artiste visuel et graphiste de talent. C’est un chanteur d’enfer et l’un des plus grands auteurs-compositeurs d’aujourd’hui. C’est un leader, un joueur de cornemuse et un voleur. C’est un jeune homme avec un vieil esprit et de beaux costumes. Il a obtenu un disque de platine pour son travail de production avec City and Colour et a été nominé pour un Juno pour sa conception graphique. Il est un ancien membre d’Attack in Black.
Daniel Romano is a talented producer, multi-instrumentalist, visual artist, and graphic designer. He’s a hell of a singer, and one of the greatest songwriter’s working today. He’s a leader and a piper and a thief. He’s a young man with an old mind and some nice suits. He’s earned a platinum record for his production work with City and Colour and has been nominated for a Juno for graphic design. He is a former member of Attack in Black.
Né au Mexique, Chico Garcia est tombé dans la musique depuis sa naissance. Le coup de foudre a été instantané lorsqu’il a obtenu sa première guitare à l’âge de onze ans.
C’est à l’âge de 15 ans qu’il commence à se faire une place dans la scène musicale de sa ville natale au Mexique. Il a joué avec plusieurs groupes très différents, ce qui lui a permis d’expérimenter des rythmes allant du métal au reggae, sans oublier le côté folklorique latino.
Chico a aussi passé quelques années en Angleterre et en Nouvelle Zélande. Les traces de ce parcours musical peuvent se remarquer dans sa musique aujourd’hui composée d’un mélange de rythmes très différents.
Rock, cumbia, reggae, latino, funk, progressive et d’autres styles, unis par une touche bien propre à Chico García, sont au menu.
Il est accompagné de cinq musiciens venant de cinq pays différents, ce qui donne un mélange étrangement intéressant. Ils nous ont préparé un spectacle rempli de couleurs et saveurs du monde, mais avec une touche épicée du sud, bien propre à Chico García.

Born in Mexico, Chico Garcia has been into music since birth. It was love at first sight when he got his first guitar at the age of eleven.
It was at the age of 15 that he began to make a name for himself in the music scene of his hometown in Mexico. He played with many different bands, which allowed him to experiment with rhythms ranging from metal to reggae, not to mention the Latin folkloric side.
Chico also spent a few years in England and New Zealand. The traces of this musical journey can be seen in his music today, which is a mixture of very different rhythms.
Rock, cumbia, reggae, latino, funk, progressive and other styles, united by Chico García’s own touch, are on the menu.
He is accompanied by five musicians from five different countries, which makes for a strangely interesting mix. They have prepared a show full of colors and flavors of the world, but with a spicy touch of the south, very specific to Chico García.
A fusion that will make you travel the world!

Le Giovany Arteaga Quintet nous fait vivre l’expérience du JAZZ AFRO LATIN. Le quintet fusionne des rythmes afro-cubains, de jazz contemporain et de bon vieux R&B/Soul de toutes les Amériques et de leur diaspora.
Giovany Arteaga, né à Cuba en 1977, grandit dans une atmosphère musicale, grâce à son père, flûtiste professionnel qui l’emmène avec lui dans ses concerts.
À 19 ans, sa carrière professionnelle commence dans le groupe de Xiomara Laugart puis avec Omara Portuondo (Buena Vista Social Club). À 20 ans, il décide de s’installer à Montréal pour poursuivre ses études et sa carrière, et tout lui réussit encore une fois. Après quelques années, il décroche son diplôme d’interprétation jazz de l’Université de Montréal et, en parallèle, développe sa carrière musicale.
Il collabore ainsi aux tournées et aux enregistrements de Jane Bunnett, Xiomara Laugert, The Cuban All-Stars, Telmary, Florence K, Nathalie Choquette, Dubmatique, Corneille, parmi d’autres.
Dix ans après son arrivée sur le sol québécois, fort de ces multiples expériences, Giovany Arteaga décide de créer son propre groupe, The Cuban Connexion, groupe de musique à la saveur cubaine agrémenté de jazz, de funk et de rythmes africains. Il crée également le quatuor jazz G4CE.
Grâce à sa maîtrise du saxophone, à sa capacité d’improvisation et à son charisme, Giovany s’est construit une place bien à lui dans le monde de la musique latine de Montréal. Il prend part régulièrement à des festivals au Canada et à Cuba.
The Giovany Arteaga Quintet brings us the AFRO LATIN JAZZ experience. The quintet fuses Afro-Cuban rhythms, contemporary jazz and good old R&B/Soul from all over the Americas and their diaspora.
Giovany Arteaga, born in Cuba in 1977, grew up in a musical atmosphere, thanks to his father, a professional flutist who took him with him to his concerts.
At the age of 19, his professional career began in Xiomara Laugart’s group and later with Omara Portuondo (Buena Vista Social Club). At the age of 20, he decided to move to Montreal to continue his studies and his career, and everything worked out for him once again. After a few years, he obtained a degree in jazz performance from the University of Montreal and, in parallel, developed his musical career.
He collaborated on tours and recordings with Jane Bunnett, Xiomara Laugert, The Cuban All-Stars, Telmary, Florence K, Nathalie Choquette, Dubmatique, Corneille, among others.
Ten years after his arrival in Quebec, Giovany Arteaga decided to create his own group, The Cuban Connexion, a group of Cuban music with jazz, funk and African rhythms. He also created the jazz quartet G4CE.
Thanks to his mastery of the saxophone, his ability to improvise and his charisma, Giovany has built a place for himself in the world of Latin music in Montreal. He regularly participates in festivals in Canada and Cuba.

Inspiré des grandes migrations ornithologiques et des obstacles auxquels les oiseaux font face, l’auteur-compositeur-interprète Mat Vezio retrouve la scène pour y présenter les pièces de son plus récent album, Couleur Ciel Ecchymose. Dans un spectacle solo où l’artiste est multi-instrumentiste, le public est plongé dans un univers où collisions en haute altitude et perditions des plus faibles sont illustrées. Un moment d’une élégance crue et rare.

Mozart en visite à Paris lors d’une tournée européenne; Ravel ébloui par l’effervescence de la vie nord-américaine; Chostakovitch assistant au retour des soldats russes en 1945. Dans la joie, la tourmente ou l’espoir, trois œuvres importantes témoignent d’une humanité en mouvement, à la rencontre de l’autre ou à la recherche de soi-même. Plus près de nous, le Québécois Simon Bertrand propose dans Weltengeist une réflexion sur un monde immobile et confiné avec force expressivité et résilience. Sous la direction du chef canadien Jordan de Souza, ce programme inspirant de voit briller l’OSM et le pianiste suisse Francesco Piemontesi.

With joy, torment, and hope, three significant works bear witness to humanity in movement, facing the other, and searching for self-understanding. Closer to home, Quebec composer Simon Bertrand’s Weltengeist conveys the still world of confinement in an expression of strength and resilience. Under the direction of Canadian conductor Jordan de Souza, this inspiring program brilliantly showcases the OSM and Swiss pianist Francesco Piemontesi.

Nous avons rencontré le personnage en 2016 à travers son manifeste enivrant enregistré sur 4 pistes ‘Goodnight’, une collision tête à tête en 24 heures de romance illusoire et d’évasion des temps modernes.
Whitney K is the wandering stalwart Konner Whitney, a Whitehorse Yukon resident who has spent time in Vancouver, Montreal, Burnaby and Los Angeles. We met the character in 2016 through his intoxicating 4-track recorded manifesto ‘Goodnight’, a head on collision into 24 hours of illusioned romance and modern day escapism.
S’inspirant de la précision froide de la musique à guitare de la fin des années 80 et du mélodrame du post-rock, Ellevator maintient une tension parfaite entre les accroches et les crescendos. La frontwoman Nabi Sue Bersche manie son lyrisme saisissant avec une lucidité aveugle, tirant des réflexions profondément personnelles de grands thèmes comme le pouvoir, l’amour et la perte.

Tomberlin c’est Sarah Beth Tomberlin, une fille de pasteur née en Floride, élevée dans l’Illinois rural. Elle a écrit la majorité de ses débuts alors qu’elle vivait chez ses parents. Pendant un certain temps après avoir quitté la maison et l’église, elle a vécu à Louisville, dans le Kentucky. Elle avait un travail de jour et continuait à écrire des chansons. Elle a posté certaines de ces chansons sur Bandcamp, ce qui l’a amenée à signer un contrat avec Saddle Creek et à enregistrer son premier album, At Weddings. Tout s’est passé très vite : Moins d’un an après son premier concert, elle a participé à l’émission de Jimmy Kimmel et a fini par déménager à Los Angeles, où elle a écrit Projections (2020), son EP qui fait suite à At Weddings, bien qu’elle l’ait enregistré à Philadelphie.
Tomberlin is Sarah Beth Tomberlin, a pastor’s kid born in Florida, raised in rural Illinois. She wrote the majority of her debut while living at home. For a while after leaving home and church, she lived in Louisville, Kentucky. She worked a day job and kept writing songs. She posted some of these songs to Bandcamp, which led to her signing a record deal with Saddle Creek, and her debut album, At Weddings. It all happened fast: Less than a year after her first live show, she performed on Jimmy Kimmel and she ended up moving to L.A. which is where she wrote Projections (2020), her EP followup to At Weddings, though she recorded it in Philadelphia.
