Formé à l’origine au tournant des années 2010, en tant que “power trio Royal Trux-cum-Cream”, dirigé par Allbrook avec Jay Watson et Joe Ryan, Pond a été rejoint peu après par Jamie Terry, puis par James Ireland pour compléter l’irrépressible groupe de cinq. Toujours prolifique, Pond peut se vanter d’avoir enregistré neuf albums studio dans son répertoire en constante expansion.

Sur leur neuvième album studio, sorti en 2021, les cinq musiciens retrouvent un sentiment anarchique d’incertitude et se rapprochent plus que jamais de la supernova créative qui a illuminé une grande partie de leur musique.

Originally formed in the turn of the 2010’s, as “a Royal Trux-cum-Cream power trio,” fronted by Allbrook with Jay Watson and Joe Ryan, Pond added Jamie Terry shortly afterwards, with James Ireland later rounding out the irrepressible five-piece. Ever prolific, Pond boasts an impressive nine studio albums in their ever expanding repertoire.

On their ninth studio album released in 2021, the five piece recapture an anarchic sense of uncertainty and fly closer than ever before to the creative supernova that has blazed across so much of their music.

Des airs de fêtes : l’Orchestre Métropolitain à la Maison Symphonique

Deux de nos plus belles voix d’ici, Kim Richardson et Mélissa Bédard, et le trio jazz montréalais du pianiste Taurey Butler se joignent à Yannick Nézet-Séguin, à ses musicien(ne)s ainsi qu’au Chœur Métropolitain afin de prendre part au tout premier concert de Noël de l’OM, qui vous transportera dans une fête à grand déploiement!

Près de 200 artistes sont réunis sur scène pour vous interpréter une sélection des plus beaux airs des Fêtes des répertoires populaires, classiques, québécois et américains, joliment drapés dans une cascade de couleurs symphoniques jazzées par les arrangements d’Antoine Gratton. Retrouvez entre autres les célèbres titres Santa Claus is coming to town, Noël blanc, Joyeux Noël, Sleigh Ride ainsi que la Nutcracker Suite de Duke Ellington ou encore la Christmas Ouverture de Coleridge-Taylor. Un concert grandiose qui enchantera petits et grands!

À la fois rock et très festive, la musique de MôdiVerrâ s’inscrit dans le courant trad-métal avec la volonté de rendre hommage à l’histoire des francophones d’Amérique du Nord, à ses héros connus et moins connus. Chaque chanson raconte l’histoire d’un personnage qui a fait l’Amérique française! Le répertoire et le spectacle de MôdiVerrâ sont constitués de compositions qui traitent principalement de l’histoire de la Nouvelle France et du Canada français mais aussi d’adaptations de musiques traditionnelles de Gilles Vigneault ou du répertoire du folkloriste Jacques Labrecque.

Both rock and very festive, MôdiVerrâ’s music is part of the trad-metal trend with the desire to pay tribute to the history of French-speaking North America, to its known and lesser known heroes. Each song tells the story of a character who made French America! MôdiVerrâ’s repertoire and show are made up of compositions that deal mainly with the history of New France and French Canada, but also adaptations of traditional music by Gilles Vigneault or the repertoire of folklorist Jacques Labrecque.

All in great fun and enjoyment!

Big show of the group Bumaranga for the launching of its second album FIESTA EN EL BARRIO! with DJ Guasà to continue the dance! The Afro-Colombian traditions are the soul of Bumaranga’s music. If the group brings a modern touch with electric instruments, the tambora, alegre drum, gaita and winds dominate. Attractive rhythms, cumbia, puya, and mapalé call for dancing. DJ Guasa explores their purest roots and most bewitching [electro-roots] declinations. Anomalie est le projet électronique live de Nicolas Dupuis, claviériste de formation classique et producteur basé à Montréal, QC.

Bien qu’Anomalie soit un artiste indépendant, sa musique a atteint une reconnaissance internationale et a préparé le terrain pour faire une tournée mondiale sous le nom de ‘Anomalie Live’, son groupe de 4 musiciens recréant sa production musicale sur scène avec des arrangements pleins d’énergie et des interprétations originales. Ses spectacles comprennent une tournée nord-américaine à guichets fermés, des festivals tels que Summercamp, le Festival de jazz de Montréal et le Festival de jazz de Toronto, ainsi que des premières parties de Kamasi Washington et du Glitch Mob.

Anomalie is the live electronic project of Nicolas Dupuis, a classically trained keyboardist and producer based in Montreal, QC.

While Anomalie is an independent artist, his music has grown to international recognition and has set the stage to tour the world as ‘Anomalie Live,’ his 4-piece band recreating his music production on stage with energy-driven arrangements and original interpretations. His shows have included a sold-out North American tour, festivals such as Summercamp, Montreal Jazz Festival, Toronto Jazz Festival, and opening slots for Kamasi Washington and the Glitch Mob.

La Fouine, de son vrai nom Laouni Mouhid, est un rappeur franco-marocain. Le rappeur se décrit lui-même comme ayant deux personnages, le premier, Laouni, fait de la chanson française, de la variété, du pop-rap ainsi que du rap conscient. L’autre, La Fouine. est plutôt du genre hip-hop, hardcore, gangsta rap et rap français.

La Fouine, whose real name is Laouni Mouhid, is a French-Moroccan rapper. The rapper describes himself as having two characters, the first one, Laouni, makes French songs, variety, pop-rap as well as conscious rap. The other one, La Fouine, is more of a hip-hop, hardcore, gangsta rap and French rap genre.

Jay Scøtt is a singer-songwriter born in Terrebonne. His musical multitasking includes rap, vocals, piano, guitar and beatmaking. Formerly known under the stage name PL3, the artist has been active on the Montreal scene for a decade now.

Le studio de musique ancienne de Montréal présente Schutz 350

Le plus grand compositeur allemand avant Bach, Heinrich Schütz, meurt en 1672, à 87 ans, considéré, tant pour son génie que pour son infatigable activité pédagogique, comme le père de la musique germanique. Disciple de Gabrieli et de Monteverdi, il adapte, dans des compositions d’une grande profondeur, les nouvelles formes italiennes à la langue allemande et à la foi luthérienne. Composée au soir de sa vie, son Histoire de la Nativité ravit encore par sa fraîcheur et sa vérité expressive, obtenue tant par son charme mélodique que par le choix des instruments accompagnant chaque personnage. Sa dernière œuvre publiée, un Magnificat allemand à deux chœurs, exprime la quintessence de son art et fait figure de testament.

The most important German composer before Bach, Heinrich Schütz, who died at the age of 87 in 1672, was regarded as the father of German music—both for his genius and for his tireless pedagogical activity. A disciple of Gabrieli and Monteverdi, he adapted the new Italian forms to the German language and to the Lutheran faith in compositions of great depth. Composed towards the end of his life, his Christmas Story still delights, with freshness and expressive truth conveyed through its melodic charm and the choice of instruments accompanying each character. His last published work, a German Magnificat for two choirs, represents the quintessence of his art and serves as a legacy.
