En peu d’années, le chef Leonardo García Alarcón a surgi comme le chef d’orchestre obligé de la planète baroque. Il est réclamé par les plus grandes institutions musicales et lyriques. C’est à lui de faire revivre la force de ces pages de Bach, à la fois célèbres et si emblématiques dans l’histoire de la musique, qui révèlent un art des plus accomplis, tant dans les passages orchestraux que vocaux.

In just a few years, conductor Leonardo García Alarcón has emerged as the requisite conductor of the baroque world. He is sought after by the greatest musical and operatic institutions. It is up to him to bring to life the power of these famous and emblematic pages of Bach’s musical history, which reveal a most accomplished art, both in the orchestral and vocal realms.

Jean-Michel Pilc au Dièse Onze

Pianiste de renommée internationale, ayant bâti sa réputation au cours de 20 ans de résidence New Yorkaise et au fil de nombreuses tournées autour du globe, Jean-Michel Pilc réside à Montréal depuis 2015 et enseigne le jazz et l’improvisation à l’Université McGill. Improvisateur sans barrière, ses prestations sont toujours intenses, imprévisibles et de haute volée. “Ses riches réinventions harmoniques de standards que vous croyiez connaître montrent clairement son génie musical.” – Eric Brace, The Washington Post “Un pianiste éblouissant et inventif.” – Nate Chinen, The New York Times

Jean-Michel Pilc (born 1960 in Paris, France) is a self-taught jazz pianist currently residing in Montreal. His technical ability has drawn comparisons to Michel Petrucciani, McCoy Tyner, and Cecil Taylor. Of particular note is Pilc’s left-hand technique, which provides an almost ambidextrous approach to the keyboard. In addition to his own projects, he is a member of a group led by drummer Ari Hoenig.

Spectacle de Noël de David Marino au Upstairs Jazz

David Marino est un crooner connu pour sa participation en tant que finaliste à “The Voice Canada”. En tant que défenseur de la santé mentale, David a organisé de nombreux concerts de big band, recueillant plus de 50 000 $ pour les services de santé mentale de l’Hôpital général juif de Montréal. David a également eu le privilège d’étudier la comédie musicale à la Tisch School of the Arts de l’Université de New York, et il est récemment diplômé de la célèbre école d’art dramatique The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre de New York.

David Marino is a crooner known for his appearance as a finalist on “The Voice Canada”. As a mental health advocate, David has organized multiple big band concerts, raising over $50,000 for mental health services at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. David has also had the privilege of studying musical theatre at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and is a recent graduate of the notable acting school, The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City.

Maple Run à la Casa del Popolo

Maple Run, basé au Vermont, a été décrit comme de l’Americana, du roots rock, de l’alt-country, du rock des années 70, du twang, du jam-band, de l’indie, du rétro, du country-folk, du folk-rock, un “soupçon des Allmans” et du cachemire underground, entre autres.

Le groupe s’est formé vers 2019 en tant que collaboration entre Trevor Crist (chant, guitare, piano, orgue) et Nicole Valcour (chant, batterie). Les deux avaient auparavant passé plusieurs années en tant que section rythmique du groupe alt-country Construction Joe. Avec le bassiste John “Spence” Spencer, ils ont commencé à se produire ensemble pour mettre en valeur les compositions de Crist, avec une signature sonore définie par les harmonies tressées de Crist et Valcour. Bill Mullins (Barbacoa, chalumeau) a rejoint le groupe peu de temps après, apportant son style unique et expressif de guitare électrique au mélange.

Vermont based Maple Run Band has been described as Americana, roots rock, alt-country, 70s rock, twang, jam-band, indie, retro, country-folk, folk-rock, “hint of the Allmans”, and paisley underground, among other things.

The band coalesced around 2019 as a collaboration between Trevor Crist (vocals, guitar, piano, organ) and Nicole Valcour (vocals, drums). The two had previously spent several years as the rhythm section of alt-country band Construction Joe. Along with bassist John “Spence” Spencer, they started performing together to showcase Crist’s songwriting, with a sonic signature defined by Crist and Valcour’s braided harmonies. Bill Mullins (Barbacoa, Blowtorch), joined shortly after, bringing his unique and expressive electric guitar stylings to the mix.

Homegrown Harvest presents a totally new genre of event: a day rave in the midst of winter. For the occasion, SAT’s interior space will be transformed into a jungle of lights and plants covered by a humid fog.

Umfang

Co-fondatrice du collectif Discwoman, Umfang, est née dans le Bronx, a grandi au Kansas et vit à Brooklyn depuis 2010. Elle organise la résidence mensuelle Technofeminism au Bossa Nova Civic Club, axée sur les talents émergents. Elle aime jouer avec les attentes des gens sur la manière de définir un set techno. Ses productions polyrythmiques ont été récemment publiées sur Ninja Tune.

Discwoman co-founder Umfang was born in the Bronx, grew up in Kansas and has been living in Brooklyn since 2010. She holds a monthly residency Technofeminism at Bossa Nova Civic Club focusing on emerging talent. She enjoys playing with people’s expectations of how a techno set can be defined. Her amorphous polyrhythmic productions have been most recently released on Ninja Tune.

Ciel

Ciel est productrice de musique, DJ, pianiste et animatrice de radio. Née à Xi’an et installée à Toronto, Ciel est la créatrice de Work in Progress, une série de concerts donnant la priorité aux femmes; co-fondatrice de la plateforme d’événements pluridisciplinaires immersifs It’s Not U It’s Me et copropriétaire du label Parallel Minds. 

Ciel is a Xi’an-born and Toronto-based music producer, DJ, pianist, and radio presenter. She is the creator of Work in Progress, a women-artist-prioritizing concert series in Toronto; a co-founder of the immersive multidisciplinary events platform It’s Not U It’s Me; and a co-owner of Toronto electronic music label Parallel Minds. 

Kris Guilty

Kris Guilty est le fondateur du magasin de disques et label La Rama. Ses DJ sets éclectiques aux frontières de la house, du funk et du boogie sont l’occasion de découvrir son impressionnant arsenal de disques. Maître incontesté du groove, Kris est aussi un sorcier certifié pour trouver l’alchimie avec des disques plus pointus, le tout complété par sa maîtrise impeccable du deejaying sur vinyl. 

Kris Guilty is the founder and head of La Rama, a record store and label based in Montreal’s Mile End district. His unsurprisingly extensive and well-curated record arsenal is complemented by an impeccable command of vinyl deejaying and crowd-reading.

Lingua Ignota à la SAT

Kristin Hayter, également connue sous le nom de Lingua Ignota, est une multi-instrumentiste de formation classique, une artiste de la performance et une chanteuse. Son premier album SINNER GET READY est sorti le 6 août 2021. Faisant suite à son album CALIGULA, acclamé par la critique, SINNER GET READY est un portrait troublant de dévotion et de trahison, de jugement et de conséquences, qui se déroule dans le paysage délabré de la Pennsylvanie rurale, une région négligée et profondément ancrée dans une forme de christianisme qui craint particulièrement Dieu, et où Hayter vivait au moment de la création de l’album.

Avec SINNER GET READY, Hayter continue de s’appuyer sur la mythologie qu’elle a créée avec CALIGULA et ALL BITCHES DIE, mais renégocie et démantèle son propre langage esthétique. Elle abandonne toute grandeur industrielle et toute approche multigenre pour se concentrer sur la création de dissonances avec des instruments traditionnels de la région des Appalaches.

Kristin Hayter, also know as Lingua Ignota, is classically trained multi-instrumentalist, performance artist, and vocalist. Her debut album SINNER GET READY came out August 6th,2021. The follow up to her critically acclaimed break out CALIGULA,SINNER GET READY is an unsettling portrait of devotion and betrayal, judgement and consequence, set in the derelict landscape of rural Pennsylvania, a neglected region deeply embedded with a particularly god fearing brand of Christianity, and where Hayter was living during the album’ inception.

With SINNER GET READY Hayter continues to build on the mythology she has created with CALIGULA and ALL BITCHES DIE but renegotiates and dismantles her own aesthetic language. She abandons any previous industrial grandeur and multi-genre approach, instead focusing on creating dissonance with traditional instruments of the Appalachian region.

Rémi-Jean LeBlanc, basé à Montréal, est actif sur la scène musicale canadienne depuis 2005 et a collaboré avec un grand nombre de musiciens à Montréal et au Canada, dont Yannick Rieu, Jean-Michel Pilc, Marianne Trudel, Steve Amirault, Carol Welsman et Elizabeth Shepherd.

R-J a également effectué des tournées avec différents projets en Europe, en Chine, au Japon, au Mexique, aux États-Unis et au Canada et s’est produit avec des artistes internationaux tels que David Binney, Seamus Blake, Greg Osby, Terri Lyne Carrington, Ari Hoenig, Gilad Hekselman, Ben Wendel et Billy Hart.

Il a sorti un troisième album en tant que leader en 2018, Déductions. L’album comprend le guitariste Nir Felder de NYC, le pianiste cubain Rafael Zaldivar, le Montréalais Sam Joly à la batterie et offre une prise énergique et introspective sur le jazz infusé de rock….

Montreal-based Rémi-Jean LeBlanc has been active on the canadian music scene since 2005 and has collaborated with an array of musicians in Montreal and in Canada including Yannick Rieu, Jean-Michel Pilc, Marianne Trudel, Steve Amirault, Carol Welsman, and Elizabeth Shepherd.

Ce long et touchant voyage nous aura permis d’entendre plus de 200 œuvres d’une extraordinaire diversité d’expression et de sentiments, constituant à elles seules un prodigieux univers sonore et spirituel.

We come to the end of a musical journey begun more than 8 years ago. This long, soulful voyage has provided us with the opportunity to hear more than 200 works encompassing an extraordinary diversity of expression and feeling. Together and individually, Bach’s sacred cantatas constitute a tremendous sonic and spiritual universe.

Messora au Turbo Haüs – Lancement de l’album BURN

Formé à l’origine comme un projet studio solo en 2016, Messora a évolué en un groupe qui obscurcit et défie les genres, tout en marchant constamment et catégoriquement sur de nouveaux terrains. Appeler Messora un groupe de Death Metal serait leur rendre un mauvais service étant donné l’étendue et la variété des sons et des influences en jeu. Ils s’efforcent simplement de poursuivre l’obscurité, où qu’elle les mène.

Originally formed as a solo studio project in 2016, Messora has evolved into a band that obscures and challenges genres, while constantly and adamantly treading on new ground. Calling Messora a Death Metal band would be doing them a disservice given the scope and variety of sounds and influences at play. They simply strive to pursue the dark, wherever that leads them.
