Montréal / Nouvelles Musiques : L’art de se réinventer

Jean-François Laporte et ses instruments inventés se joignent à l’Ensemble Cairn pour interpréter trois œuvres de compositeurs choisis pour l’originalité de leur démarche. Cet instrumentarium inusité — deux tables de Babel et un orgue à sirènes — répond aux instruments classiques dans une jonction inédite entre matières premières et matières sonores. Offrant ainsi une performance jouissive où la vitalité des couleurs et la plasticité du son font émerger des perspectives sonores inattendues. En prélude, le Totem Trio propose une improvisation pour faire entendre ses instruments Totem dans leurs états naturels.

L’Ensemble Cairn (France) aborde des répertoires ouverts à d’autres formes esthétiques et d’autres pratiques artistiques. Leurs concerts sont conçus comme des cheminements intérieurs dans lesquels chaque spectateur est invité à imaginer une relation sensible avec le son.

Totem Contemporain œuvre à l’avant-garde de la recherche, de l’expérimentation et de l’innovation, particulièrement dans le créneau pointu des nouveaux instruments de musique acoustiques.

Jean-François Laporte and his invented instruments join Ensemble Cairn to perform three works by composers chosen for the originality of their approach. This unusual instrumentarium — two Babel tables and a siren organ — respond to the classical instruments in a new junction between raw materials and sound materials. The result is a delightful performance where the vitality of the colours and the plasticity of the sound give rise to unexpected aural perspectives. As a prelude, the Totem Trio proposes an improvisation featuring Totem instruments are heard in their natural state.

The Ensemble Cairn (France) approaches repertoires open to other aesthetic forms and artistic practices. Their concerts are conceived as inner journeys where each spectator is invited to imagine a sensitive relationship with sound.

Totem Contemporain is at the forefront of research, experimentation and innovation, particularly in the field of new acoustic musical instruments.
