L’Off Jazz présente Andrés Vial Quartet

Inscrit parmi les actions culturelles associées à l’exposition À plein volume : Basquiat et la musique présentée au Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, ce concert d’Andrés Vial réunit des musiciens du Burkina Faso, du Mali, du Brésil, d’Argentine et du Canada dans le but d’explorer le lien profond qui existe entre le jazz et les musiques sud-américaine et africaine. Les instruments comprennent le piano, le balafon, le tambour parlant, le vibraphone, le marimba, le bombo legüero et la batterie.

La musique s’inspire des ensembles de percussions jazz tels que le M’Boom de Max Roach et l’Art Ensemble of Chicago ainsi que sur des musiques traditionnelles et folkloriques.

Le répertoire de ce concert est différent de celui proposé le 15 octobre par L’ensemble Joe Chambers et Andrés Vial.

Part of the cultural activities associated with the exhibition À plein volume: Basquiat et la musique presented at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, this concert by Andrés Vial brings together musicians from Burkina Faso, Mali, Brazil, Argentina and Canada to explore the deep connection between jazz and South American and African music. Instruments include piano, balafon, talking drum, vibraphone, marimba, bombo legüero and drums.

The music is inspired by jazz percussion ensembles such as Max Roach’s M’Boom and the Art Ensemble of Chicago as well as traditional and folk music.

The repertoire of this concert is different from the one presented on October 15 by Joe Chambers/Andrés Vial Ensemble
