Petra Glynt

DISTORSION turns to visionary pluridisciplinary artist Alexandra Mackenzie a.k.a. Petra Glynt for the festival’s first notes on Friday. She is presenting new material, also performing for the first time in over two years after composing musical scores for films such as Wander and The Devil’s Trap.

Crasher

Airick Asher Woodhead (Doldrums, Errhead) propose avec un nouveau projet nommé Crasher des airs post-punk aux ramifications électroniques, dont des pièces tirées du EP ‘Street Cleaning Machines of the World’, qui promettent d’être livrés avec verve, ténacité et cadence.

Airick Asher Woodhead (Doldrums, Errhead) is back with Crasher, a mysterious outfit that recently released their first EP: ‘Street Cleaning Machines of the World’. The trio puts forth post-punk fueled by electronic elements, delivered with uncanny cadence, tenacity and verve.

Grim Streaker

Friday night will see delirious Brooklyn art punk ensemble Grim Streaker play a first concert in Montreal since the release of the ‘MIND’ EP. It will also see frenetic frontwoman Amelia Bushell spit a little poetic acid in her future city of residence, while the bunch performs discordant titles that travel from post-hardcore all the way into post-disco.

Holy Fuck

Closing Friday’s festivities, we have praised Toronto-based project Holy Fuck, an absolute feat of strength in terms of boundary-pushing electronic rock music nestled in psychedelia. Known for their polymorphic and vertiginous ear worms, the three-piece brings along a selection of sonic bombs from their latest release ‘Deleter’ (via Last Gang Records), as well as from their previous four album since forming in 2004.
