Le Chœur St-Laurent vous convie à un grand concert intitulé Psalmae. Les trois œuvres présentées sont inspirées de psaumes et de textes qui apportent réconfort et espoir.
Le Psaume 121 (Psalm 121) du compositeur canadien Imant Raminsh met en musique un texte fort connu et porteur d’un message apaisant : entre notre départ et notre arrivée, celui qui veille sur nous ne dort jamais. Suit le Psalmus Hungaricus de Zoltán Kodály, dont c’est le 100e anniversaire de création, avec le ténor canadien Ian Cleary pour la première fois au Chœur St-Laurent, un rôle qu’incarnent les choristes. Enfin, le Chœur St-Laurent présente une œuvre très rarement offerte au public : le Psaume 100 du compositeur Max Reger, une symphonie-chorale de grande envergure et aux sonorités festives offrant des moments d’une immense beauté.

Psalm 121 by Canadian composer Imant Raminsh sets to music a well-known religious text: from beginning to end, the One who watches over us never sleeps. This is followed by Zoltán Kodály’s Psalmus Hungaricus on the 100th anniversary of its composition, with Canadian tenor Ian Cleary, making his debut with the St. Lawrence Choir, as the psalmist and his people represented by the choristers. Finally, the Choir will perform Max Reger’s Psalm 100, a rarely heard choral symphony marked by festive harmonies and moments of immense beauty.
