The LMMC has a proven longstanding history as one of Canada’s top chamber music presenters and a Montreal musical tradition. Founded in 1892 by a group of women amateur musicians, the LMMC continues to offer annual seasons of outstanding chamber music concerts with exceptional performers and a consistently notable repertoire. Horowitz, Gould, Heifetz, Stern, Rampal, Piatigorsky, Tortelier, Ferrier, Forrester, the Alban Berg and Tokyo quartets, the Beaux-Arts and Pennetier-Pasquier-Pidoux Trios, are but a sampling of the world-class musicians who have performed and, in many cases, made their Montreal debuts at the Club.
Le LMMC possède une longue et solide histoire comme l’un des plus importants présentateurs de musique de chambre au Canada et constitue une tradition musicale montréalaise. Fondé en 1892 par un groupe de musiciennes amatrices, le LMMC continue d’offrir chaque année une saison de concerts de musique de chambre remarquable avec des artistes exceptionnels et un répertoire toujours notable. Horowitz, Gould, Heifetz, Stern, Rampal, Piatigorsky, Tortelier, Ferrier, Forrester, les quatuors Alban Berg et Tokyo, les trios Beaux-Arts et Pennetier-Pasquier-Pidoux sont au nombre des musiciens de réputation internationale présentés en récital qui, dans bien des cas, ont fait leurs débuts montréalais au LMMC.
