OSM : La Cinquième Symphonie de Mahler

Dans le cadre du cycle Mahler présenté à l’OSM, le maestro Rafael Payare dirigera la monumentale Symphonie n^o 5 du compositeur autrichien, au lendemain d’un concert du même programme présenté au Carnegie Hall à New York. Entre tempête, tension et vision du paradis, ce majestueux édifice instrumental chemine des ténèbres vers la lumière, de la marche funèbre initiale jusqu’au rondo final triomphal. Le pianiste Yefim Bronfman sera quant à lui de retour à l’OSM dans le virtuose Concerto n^o 2 de Bartók.

As part of the Mahler cycle presented by the OSM, Maestro Rafael Payare will conduct the Austrian composer’s monumental Symphony no. 5. Storminess, tension, and heavenly visions carry this majestic instrumental edifice from darkness into light, from the opening funeral march to the triumphant Rondo-Finale. Also on the program: pianist Yefim Bronfman is back with the OSM to perform Bartók’s masterful Concerto no. 2.
