Perséide have always drawn on the enchantment and sense of floating to lend a psychedelic character to their retrospective rock music. If their album “Parmi les arbres” guided us on a psychotropic trek through an initiating forest, Perséide’s new album “Les couleurs d’été”, released in 2023, opens onto a kaleidoscopic clearing warmed by the sun. The journey offered by the band, made up of Louis-Philippe Cantin, Olivier Durand, Daniel Quirion, Samuel Milette and Adrien Lauture, is eclectic and draws its influences from the pop-psyche of the sixties, the acid-folk universe of flower-power minstrels and the hypnotism of German kosmische. Perséide encourages us to take a bite out of the fruit, by talking about escape, the quest for freedom and self-abandonment.
