Composer, conductor and artistic director (Temps Fort), PASCAL GERMAIN-BERARDI is responsible for the conception and creation of “Basileus”, an oratorio in four acts based on a libretto by SÉBASTIEN JOHNSON. Its protagonists thirst for honor, freedom and domination. This tragedy of lineage and anxiety about origins features four characters, all related, who seek to free themselves from the past, while searching for personal freedom and collective responsibility. These roles are played by dynamic, complementary soloists: SARAH ALBU (“the Matriarch”), CHARLOTTE GAGNON (“Ades”) and DOMINIC LORANGE (“Agis”). They are accompanied by a gigantic orchestra of guitars, brass and percussion, not forgetting the inimitable intensity of the GROWLERS CHOIR heavy metal howling choir.
