Fri 08 Aug 2025 • 10:15 pm Afro-Cuban / danse
Quai de l’Horloge - Montréal Gratuit
· by Rédaction PAN M 360

Like a mineral flower born of wind, sand, and time, Desert Rose rises between grace and resistance. Ana Espinosa, a Cuban choreographer with a volcanic soul, brings to the stage a world where dance becomes living matter, sacred breath, embodied memory.
Her performers, vibrant silhouettes like mirages, draw on the ground the lines of a poem from elsewhere. Their movement, inspired by fusion oriental dance, evokes bodies crossed by the ancient fire of Afro-Cuban traditions and the mystery of distant lands. Every shoulder tremble, every circle traced by the hips, tells a story of rebirth through the storm.
A pioneer of oriental dance in Cuba, Ana Espinosa transforms the stage into a crucible of emotion. Under her steps, reality cracks open, revealing a world where vulnerability is strength and movement is the language of the soul.
Desert Rose is a danced incantation, a prayer rising without words. Hips chant a hymn for souls in search of grounding, borders dissolve, and the entire audience is invited to scatter sparks of light into the fractures of the world.
