SlowPitchSound

SlowPitchSound est un compositeur primé, un mentor et un explorateur du son et de l’image basé à Toronto, avec plus de vingt ans d’expérience. Il a collaboré avec de brillant.e.s créateur.rice.s issu.e.s d’un large éventail de disciplines, dont l’opéra, le jazz, la musique classique, la musique électronique, le théâtre et la danse. Son style unique de production musicale, autoproclamé « scifi-turntablism », a été présenté sur les scènes du monde entier, notamment au Canada, en Australie, aux États-Unis, au Royaume-Uni, en France, en Suède, en Allemagne et à Taïwan. Passionné par la profondeur et le détail dans son travail, SlowPitchSound est fortement inspiré par la nature, l’espace et la science-fiction dystopique. Son approche de la création et de la présentation de la musique comprend le turntablism, le sampling en direct et le field recording.

SlowPitchSound is an award winning Toronto-based composer, mentor, and explorer of sound & visuals with over two decades of experience. He has collaborated with brilliant creators from a wide range of disciplines including opera, jazz, classical, electronic music, theatre and dance. His unique style of music production, self proclaimed as “scifi-turntablism”, has been featured on stages around the world including Canada, Australia, USA, United Kingdom, France, Sweden, Germany and Taiwan. With a passion for depth and detail in his work, SlowPitchSound is heavily inspired by nature, outer space, and dystopian sci-fi. His approach to making and presenting music includes turntablism, live sampling and field recordings.

Bana Haffar

Bana Haffar est une compositrice de musique électronique vivant à Montréal, au Canada. Elle travaille avec des motifs, du design sonore et du séquençage basé sur des échantillons, cherchant à relier les univers sonores et les motifs à divers systèmes non musicaux. En 2014, Bana a fondé, avec Eric Cheslak, Modular on the Spot à Los Angeles, et en 2021, elle a co-fondé le Beirut Synthesizer Center au Liban.

Bana Haffar is an electronic music composer living in Montreal, Canada. She works with patterns, sound design, and sample based sequencing, attempting to relate sound worlds and patterns to various non-musical systems. In 2014 Bana, together with Eric Cheslak, founded Modular on the Spot in Los Angeles and in 2021 she co-founded the Beirut Synthesizer Center in Lebanon.
