Originaire de la région de Détroit, Daniel Kahn a fréquenté l’université du Michigan où il a étudié le théâtre, la mise en scène, l’écriture dramatique et la poésie. Après avoir terminé ses études, il a joué de la musique, enregistré, fait du théâtre, mis en scène des pièces et composé de la musique de théâtre à la Nouvelle-Orléans, à Détroit, à New York et à Ann Arbor. Il a reçu des prix pour son écriture dramatique, sa poésie, son jeu et sa composition.
Né à New York, Jake Shulman-Ment est l’un des musiciens klezmer les plus réputés d’aujourd’hui. Il effectue des tournées et des enregistrements internationaux en tant que soliste et avec Daniel Kahn and the Painted Bird, Di Naye Kapelye, The Brothers Nazaroff, Pete Rushefsky, Frank London, Sanda Weigl, Joey Weisenberg, Adrian Receanu, Duncan Sheik et bien d’autres encore.
A Detroit area native, Daniel Kahn attended the University of Michigan where he studied acting, directing, playwriting and poetry. After finishing his studies he lived, played music, recorded, acted, directed plays and composed theatre music in New Orleans, Detroit, New York and Ann Arbor. He has received awards for his playwriting, poetry, acting, and composing.
