Issue d’une mère québécoise et d’un père polonais, Briga est une auteure-compositrice, interprète et multi-instrumentiste canadienne basée à Montréal. Avec quatre albums à son actif (Diaspora, Turbo Folk Stories, Wake et Femme), des spectacles à travers le Canada, les États-Unis et l’Europe, Briga a été nommée en 2018 au JUNO, elle est aussi récipiendaire du prix Étoile Galaxie, et a été nommée plusieurs fois à l’ADISQ et aux Prix Canadiens de Musique Folk. À la fois simple et colorée, traditionnelle et métissée, elle s’inspire des sonorités de l’Europe de l’Est. Sa musique est un mélange à la Turbo Folk enrobé de Groove des Balkans et du Maghreb.
Born to a Quebecois mother and a Polish father, Briga is a Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Montreal. With four albums to her credit (Diaspora, Turbo Folk Stories, Wake and Femme), shows across Canada, the U.S. and Europe, Briga was nominated in 2018 at the JUNO, she is also a recipient of the Étoile Galaxie award, and has been nominated several times at ADISQ and the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Both simple and colorful, traditional and mixed, she draws her inspiration from the sounds of Eastern Europe. Her music is a blend of Turbo Folk and Balkan and Maghrebian grooves.
