Blaise Labamba, originaire du Congo-Kinshasa, est une figure importante de la scène musicale africaine au Canada, maîtrisant le piano, la guitare et les percussions. Après des études de musique à l’Institut National des Arts de Kinshasa, il rejoint le groupe de la star congolaise, le général Defao, et l’accompagne dans diverses tournées internationales. En 2018, il forme Kotakoli, mettant en avant sa fusion de la rumba congolaise, du zouk et du soukous avec une énergie contagieuse. Les performances dynamiques de Blaise La Bamba & Kotakoli leur valent le Syli de Bronze lors de la 15e édition des Syli d’Or de la Musique du Monde.

Blaise Labamba, originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is a significant figure in the African music scene in Canada, mastering the piano, guitar, and percussion. After studying music at the National Institute of Arts in Kinshasa, he joined the band of Congolese star General Defao, accompanying him on various international tours. In 2018, he formed Kotakoli, showcasing his blend of Congolese rumba, zouk, and soukous with contagious energy. Blaise La Bamba & Kotakoli’s dynamic performances earned them the Bronze Syli at the 15th edition of the Syli d’Or World Music Awards.
