An acrobat at heart, Flàvia Nascimento travels from festivals to popular events with her voice ambered by the warm sun of her native Brazil. Drawing on her training as an actress and her past as a circus artist, she offers moving and sensual performances, breathing joy, happiness and authenticity. Expressive and generous, funny and tender at the same time, Flàvia Nascimento, with her luminous personality, gives a particular relief to her original compositions inspired as much by Afro-Brazilian music as by popular Brazilian music, which she interprets in French and Portuguese.

Born in Brazil, Flavia Nascimento began her artistic career as an actress who graduated from the University Theater of Belo Horizonte.

She was part of the play The Witches of Salem, toured for a year with the musical Mulheres de Hollanda and co-founded the popular education theater group CaraCara, which educates communities to take care of the environment.

While teaching circus workshops to young people in difficulty, Flávia began her career as a clown and stilt walker. After many circus adventures in Brazil, she moved to Quebec City in 2001.

Soon, this luminous and versatile artist became known in the cultural landscape of Quebec City. Flávia travels to neighborhood and street parties, popular events and festivals. Wherever people want to make the party pop, they call on Flávia! The TV show Belle et Bum invited her, at the helm of Pé na Rua, during her performance at the Impérial de Québec in 2007.

In 2014, she took advantage of a family trip to Brazil and her meeting with Brazilian musician Betinho Muniz, to record her first solo CD. Flávia then embarked on the production of her first solo show at the Granada Theatre in Sherbrooke, accompanied by her four musicians whom she affectionately nicknamed her Plus Petit Big Band.

The friendship between Muniz and Flávia and their musical partnership gave birth to a new album in 2016.

The show is a success and Flávia performs in a series of shows and festivals such as the Luminato Festival in Toronto, the Mundial in Montreal, concerts at the Palais Montcalm in Quebec City and the Quebec City Summer Festival. In 2015, she won the Stingray Music Star Award for a remarkable performance during the event.
