En février et mars 2024, les frères Damian « Jr Gong » Marley et Stephen « Ragga » Marley, lauréats d’un Grammy Award, lanceront leur tournée exclusive Traffic Jam Tour à travers l’Amérique du Nord. C’est la première fois dans l’histoire que les deux frères présentent ensemble une tournée, offrant ainsi une vitrine unique à leurs fans. La tournée de 18 dates commence le 16 février et comprend 15 dates produites par Live Nation, avec des arrêts à Las Vegas (NV), Seattle (WA), Vancouver (BC), Boston (MA), Brooklyn (NY), Toronto (ON) et d’autres avant de se terminer au Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom à Chicago (IL), le 30 mars. En outre, trois dates de festival complètent la tournée : CaliVibes Fest, Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival et Reggae Rise Up Florida.

Le concert, qui se déroulera sans interruption, comprendra une liste de morceaux choisis dans le catalogue des deux frères et un pot-pourri des classiques de leur père Bob Marley. Damian et Stephen Marley ont écrit et interprété ensemble une multitude de singles au cours des deux dernières décennies – y compris la collaboration la plus récente, « Cast The First Stone », tirée du nouvel album de Stephen Marley, Old Soul. This marks the inaugural occasion in history when the brothers have jointly presented a curated set, offering a unique showcase to their fans. The 18-date tour begins February 16 and features 15 dates produced by Live Nation, with stops including Las Vegas, NV; Seattle, WA; Vancouver, BC; Boston, MA; Brooklyn, NY; Toronto, ON; and more before concluding at Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL, on March 30. Additionally, three festival dates complete the outing including CaliVibes Fest, Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival, and Reggae Rise Up Florida.

The seamless performance will feature a special curated set list of both brothers’ catalogs and a medley of their father Bob Marley’s classics. Damian and Stephen Marley have written and performed a multitude of singles together over the last two decades – including the most recent collaboration, “Cast The First Stone” from Stephen Marley’s new LP Old Soul. The brothers wrote/produced/performed on the anthemic Grammy-winning reggae classic “Welcome To Jamrock,” in addition to timeless compositions like “Medication,” “Grown & Sexy,” “All Night,” “It Was Written,” and, of course, “Traffic Jam.”

Avec un quatrième album en préparation, la transcendance, le sublime et le lâcher-prise reflètent l’esprit de Portielje. Depuis le dernier album de Half Moon Run, A Blemish in the Great Light (Glassnote, 2019), il y a eu la pandémie mondiale et plusieurs changements dans l’industrie du spectacle. Entre-temps, le groupe a sorti trois albums – deux EPs et une collection de leur répertoire en versions acoustiques. De plus, le quatrième membre, le multi-instrumentiste Isaac Symonds, a quitté le groupe et entamé une vie bucolique dans l’ouest du pays.

Reste Portielje, Conner Molander et Dylan Phillips, le trio fondateur du groupe. Leur historique comprend une annonce Craigslist en 2009 et un espace de pratique sombre du Mile End, peuplé d’une vague montante de musiciens montréalais, y compris la phénomène Grimes. Ils ont passé ces années formatives à générer non seulement un premier album, Dark Eyes (Indica, 2012), mais aussi l’entité agitée à six bras qui compose leur musique et assure leur spectacle en direct. (Tous les membres de Half Moon Run, passés et présents, sont des vocalistes et des multi-instrumentalistes.) « La chimie a simplement fonctionné », dit Molander de cette époque. « Nous avons décidé de laisser tomber tous nos projets de vies et d’y aller à fond avec le groupe. With a fourth album in the works, transcendence, the sublime, and letting go are on Portielje’s mind. Since Half Moon Run’s last album, A Blemish in the Great Light (Glassnote, 2019), there’s been a global pandemic and a sea-change in the live music industry. Meanwhile, the band’s put out three releases—two EPs and a collection of reworked “isolation versions” of older songs. Plus, their fourth member, multi-instrumentalist Isaac Symonds, has moved on to a bucolic life out west.

The remaining trio—Portielje, Conner Molander, and Dylan Phillips—are also the band’s founding trio. Their fabled origin story involves a 2009 Craigslist ad, and a dingy Mile End jam space populated by a rising wave of Montreal musicians, including phenom Grimes. They spent those formative years generating not just their debut album, Dark Eyes (Indica, 2012) but also the restless, six-armed entity that composes their music and performs their live show. (All of Half Moon Run’s members, past and present, are vocalists and multi-instrumentalists.) “The chemistry just fused,” Molander says of that time. “We decided that we were going to drop everything else that we might want to pursue in our lives and just go full steam ahead with the band. I dropped out of university, we all quit jobs, took on debt. When I think back on that album, it must’ve been by sheer force of desperation that something came across, because there was no turning back.”

Une puissante bougie d’allumage! Voilà un qualificatif qui décrit parfaitement Sara Dufour. La brillante auteure-compositrice originaire de Dolbeau Mistassini a déjà un EP et 3 albums à son actif. Depuis la sortie de son album éponyme en 2019, elle parcourt le Québec et la France et empile les honneurs (Nomination à L’ADISQ et au GAMIQ, lauréate de la chanson de l’année SOCAN, du prix André ‘Dédé’ Fortin de la SPACQ et du prix Musique Country de la SOCAN). Elle a joué plus de 400 spectacles devant un public conquis et grandissant, incluant une performance sur les plaines d’Abraham lors d’une soirée historique avec Les Cowboys Fringants pendant le Festival d’été de Québec en 2023.   

En spectacle, on fait la rencontre de quelqu’un d’authentique qui nous donne envie de s’évader le temps d’une escapade ou du moins, le goût de respirer la liberté pour un moment. Au volant de sa guitare, elle continue de «taper sa trail» avec son folk’n’roll. Elle vous raconte des «bouttes» d’histoires à vapeur d’essence et vous entraîne dans ses aventures parsemées d’humour et de spontanéité, bien ancrées dans ses racines.  

A powerful spark plug! That’s the perfect way to describe Sara Dufour. The brilliant singer-songwriter from Dolbeau Mistassini already has an EP and 3 albums to her credit. Après s’être lancé dans le rap à l’âge de neuf ans et avoir échangé des insultes freestyle avec ses amis en jouant à la Xbox, le rappeur du Queens Lil Tecca a développé un flow Auto-Tuned qui s’est tourné vers Chief Keef comme influence principale. Il a publié quelques titres en ligne en 2018 et a percé auprès d’un public plus large avec « Did It Again » et le single phare « Ransom », qui figure également sur sa mixtape 2019 We Love You Tecca. Cette mixtape, son premier album studio en 2020, Virgo World, et sa suite en 2021, We Love You Tecca 2, sont tous entrés dans le Top 10 du Billboard. Le troisième album studio de Tecca, Tec, est arrivé en 2023 et a également bien figuré dans les classements.

Sa passion pour la musique grandit, mais le chanteur a du mal à parler librement de ses ambitions car ses parents ne sont pas d’accord avec son choix de carrière. Néanmoins, la personnalité progressive de DYSTINCT fait qu’à l’âge de 14 ans, il continue à développer ses talents musicaux de manière professionnelle. Ce travail acharné a rapidement été récompensé, son premier single “No Ring Ring” compte plus de 3 millions de vues sur YouTube et plus de 4 millions de streams sur Spotify. Son son est décrit comme un mélange d’éléments urbains et arabes. Il a déjà travaillé avec des noms comme Chawki (Maroc), Franglish (France), F1rstman (Pays-Bas), DJ Leska (France), Zefanio (Pays-Bas) et bien d’autres. DYSTINCT travaille actuellement sur son premier album “Mon Voyage” qui sortira bientôt.
