An important new initiative dedicated to fostering emerging trans, non-binary, and gender-expansive artists, the Museond Incubator provides creators with seed funding and a platform through which ambitious interdisciplinary projects can take shape. Following its 2025 presentation of Gabo Champagne’s Yvern—a poetic fusion of music, theatre, and movement reflecting on the threatened disappearance of Quebec winter—the Incubator returns to Flux with a vibrant program spanning drag, experimental music, poetry, performance, and visual art.
The evening features as MC, the unforgettable Drag King Valentino – the king of seduction and sensuality, oscillating between masculine and gender-bending styles. Italian crooner, gothic rocker and dandy chique, Valentino navigates different modes of expression as himself or through his alter ego, Liz. Liz Lima performs as an experimental singer, improviser, clarinetist, and composer with an interdisciplinary approach that blends operatic singing, experimental rock, and noise, as well as bird sounds, with film, theater, dance and literature. Flux marks the first collaboration and fusing of Valentino and Liz.
The evening also features the first full-band appearance of Naomi McCarroll-Butler’s freak-folk drone project Mer Agatha. Joined by Lucas Huang (Hsien), Christelle Saint-Julien, Sam Shalabi, and Hélios Paradis, Mer Agatha presents a dreamlike suite of invented instruments, feedback loops, and original and traditional songs, voiced by three characters inhabiting a surreal technodystopia suspended between the distant past and an uncertain future.
Multidisciplinary artist, improviser, and poet Z performs a slowly evolving electronic drone composed in real time through active listening, as frequencies, frictions, undulations, gravities, and textures interact with the space and with one another. Z will also launch a new photographic zine: a poetic meditation on making a home in a strange and liminal place, moving through landscapes and languages, identities, love, longing, estrangement, and the ordinary pleasures of passing through.

Festival Flux : Liberté Anne & FROTAE ft. Stella Adjokê + Mubone Collective à la Chapelle des Hospitalières

par Rédaction PAN M 360

FROTAE

FROTAE is an ensemble of five saxophonist-improvisers whose work combines microtonal composition, collective listening practices, spatialized sound, and improvisation. Founded and led by Montreal-based composer Liberté Anne, the members of FROTAE have been working as a core unit since 2023, when they began to develop a deeply collaborative musical language rooted in long-term experimentation and collective listening. The ensemble creates immersive listening environments in which the tactile and psychoacoustic properties of the saxophone become physically perceptible to audiences as performances move between the feeling of playground and sacred ceremony.

Mubone Collective

The Mubone Collective is a transdisciplinary performance group working between Montreal and Copenhagen at the intersections of sound, movement, technology and architecture. The collective brings together trombonist-composer Kalun Leung, digital luthier Travis West, choreographer-performer Bettina Szabó, vocalist and creative producer Kirsten Voss, and percussionist-composer Sara Nigard Rosendal. At the centre of their practice is the mubone, a wearable sensor system developed by Leung and West that transforms physical gesture into spatialized sound. Through site-responsive performances combining composition, improvisation, choreography and performative electronics, the collective treats bodies and architectural spaces as active participants in the creation of music. Their work explores migration, belonging and cultural identity, as well as the languages through which care and connection are expressed.
