Le groupe de rock anglais Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs (ou PIGSx7) mêle acid rock, psych-metal et influences doom et stoner dans un épais déluge de riffs et de hurlements menaçants. Évoquant une rencontre entre Black Sabbath et Hawkwind sous l’effet d’hallucinogènes particulièrement virulents, PIGSx7 déploie un son massif et percutant, laissant place à l’expérimentation sonore et à des riffs de guitare titanesques, bien que l’écrasante lourdeur de leur musique domine l’ensemble. Sur leur premier album, Feed the Rats (2017), le groupe s’appuyait sur de longues compositions (deux des trois morceaux dépassent les 15 minutes). Avec Viscerals (2020) et Land of Sleeper (2023), leurs titres se sont resserrés, mais la puissance brutale de leur musique est restée intacte, pour le plus grand plaisir des fans.

English rock outfit Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs (or « PIGSx7 » for short) combine acid rock, psych-metal, and doom and stoner influences into a thick sludge of riffs and menacing bellows. Suggesting a meeting of the minds between Black Sabbath and Hawkwind under the influence of especially nasty hallucinogens, PIGSx7 generate a burly, hard-hitting sound that makes room for sonic experimentation and gargantuan guitar riffs, though the overwhelming heaviness of their sound is what rules the day. On their debut album, 2017’s Feed the Rats, the group built their music around lengthy performances (two of the set’s three tracks run over 15 minutes). By the time they cut 2020’s Viscerals and 2023’s Land of Sleeper, the songs were more compact, but the aggressive stomp of the band was still as brutal as fans could wish.

Bob Vylan

Le deux pièces londonien BOB VYLAN est unique. Un chanteur (Bobby) et un batteur (Bobbie). Un étant un porte-parole vital et central, l’autre un créateur et gardien du rythme, un meneur du public, un maître du calme. C’est un groupe qui embrasse à la fois le chaos et la paix, un groupe qui prospère grâce à l’indépendance et créer leur propre chemin, un groupe connu pour ses mosh pits et ses pit câlins. Ils ont un un son unique et en constante évolution, qui traverse les styles et les genres, éliminant le traditionnel et embrassant des dimensions sonores nouvelles et plus uniques. Ils intègrent ces styles dans leur musique dans une tentative de relier et de mélanger les genres et les sous-cultures. C’est ce style très unique et un son qui les a amenés à être adoptés par les foules du rock, du rap, du punk, de la danse et de l’alternative.

London two-piece BOB VYLAN are unique. One vocalist (Bobby) and one drummer (Bobbie). One being a vital and focal mouthpiece, the other a rhythm maker and keeper, one audience ringleader, one master of the calm. They are a band that embraces both chaos and peace, a band that thrives on independence and creating their own path, a band known for mosh pits and pit hugs. They have a unique and ever evolving sound, one that crosses styles and genres, doing away with the traditional and embracing new and more unique sonic dimensions. They incorporate these styles within their music in an attempt to bridge and blend genres and subcultures together. It is this very unique style and sound that has found them embraced by rock, rap, punk, dance and alternative crowds alike.

Jigsaw Youth est un groupe punk/grunge entièrement féminin de Staten Island, New York, qui apporte une nouvelle vague de distorsion brute et d’éléments du rock alternatif des années 90. Ses membres incluent Maria Alvarez à la basse et au chant, Nastacha Beck à la guitare et Alex Dmytrow à la batterie !

Soulside

Soulside est né à Washington, DC, en 1985 — s’est séparé en 1989 — puis est revenu ensemble en 2014. Il n’ont pas arrêté de jouer et d’écrire de la musique depuis. Après avoir sorti leur premier album chez Sammich/Dischord, ils ont enregistré Trigger (Dischord, 1988) et Hot Bodi-Gram (Dischord, 1989), qui ont été réunis sur le CD Soon Come Happy en 1990. Le groupe a effectué de nombreuses tournées aux États-Unis et en Europe au cours de ces années, y compris des concerts en Pologne et à Berlin-Est en 1989, juste avant la chute du mur de Berlin. Soon Come Happy a été remastérisé en 2003. En 2020, Soulside sortait This Ship, leur premier 7’’ depuis 30 ans, enregistré à Prague.

Soulside formed in Washington, DC, in 1985, split up in 1989, then reformed in 2014 and has continued playing and writing music since then. Scream

Scream voit le jour en 1979. Le batteur Kent Stacks, le bassiste Skeeter Enoch Thompson et les frères Pete et Franz Stahl vont à l’école ensemble à Bailey’s Crossroads, en Virginie, lorsqu’ils commencent à découvrir la scène punk et new wave de Washington et le pouvoir provocateur de la musique. Comme la plupart des groupes punk de Washington, ils sont influencés par Bad Brains, mais ils se distinguent par leur sensibilité rock n’ roll. En 1982, ils se rendent au studio Inner Ear avec Ian MacKaye et Eddie Janney pour enregistrer le premier album complet de Dischord, Still Screaming. Le groupe a depuis connu quelques changements, notamment l’ajout de leur ami Harley Davidson à la seconde guitare, et, lorsque Kent Stacks a quitté le groupe pour fonder une famille, ils ont demandé à un jeune batteur local, Dave Grohl, de prendre la relève. Scream formed in 1979. The band returned as a unit, with Clint Walsh on second guitar, in 2011 to record the Complete Control Sessions, which was released as an EP on Side One Dummy and was, until now, the band’s most recent release.

Hans Williams au Ritz PDB

Hans Williams est un auteur-compositeur-interprète indépendant de 21 ans originaire de Norwich, dans le Vermont. Il a commencé à publier de la musique en troisième année, lorsqu’il distribuait des CD après l’école, et est tombé amoureux de l’écriture de chansons comme moyen d’expression. Après avoir téléchargé quelques chansons sur Spotify au lycée, Hans a rapidement accumulé plus d’un million de streams avant d’obtenir son diplôme.

En 2020, Hans a lancé « Body on My Shoulders », une réflexion sur son expérience en tant que premier intervenant lors du suicide d’un camarade de classe dans les premiers jours de l’année de première année à l’université de Tulane, qui est depuis devenu un hymne thérapeutique mutuel pour Williams, la communauté de Tulane et au-delà.

Hans Williams is a 21-year-old independent singer-songwriter from Norwich, Vermont. First releasing music in third grade when he would hand out CDs after school, Hans fell in love with songwriting as a means of expression. After uploading a couple of songs on Spotify in high school, Hans quickly amassed over a million streams before graduating.

In 2020, Hans debuted « Body on My Shoulders, » reflecting on his experience as a first responder to a floormate’s suicide in the first few days of freshmen year at Tulane University, which has since become a mutually therapeutic anthem for Williams, the Tulane community, and beyond.

Ils se sont formés pour la première fois en 2013, lorsqu’un ami les a présentés par courriel. Christina Wood travaillait alors comme consultante en environnement dans la forêt indonésienne tout en enregistrant des démos dans sa chambre chaque soir, et Cicely Goulder avait composé pour des productions cinématographiques à Londres. Malgré les kilomètres qui les séparent, l’alchimie musicale est immédiate.
