Congolese Rumba / Soukouss

RNeuf au Club Balattou

Né dans un quartier populaire de Kinshasa, en RD Congo, d’où la musique est une mode de vie, le guitariste-auteur-compositeur RNeuf, alors enfant, tombe amoureux de l’instrument que son grand frère : la guitare. Avec cette influence, il commence à apprendre à en jouer avec un instrument qu’il fabrique lui-même.

En grandissant, RNeuf s’impose dans le milieu parmi les révélations de la musique congolaise. Il travaille avec différents groupes de musique au Congo, jusqu’à rejoindre le célèbre groupe Mbongwana Star (groupe créé après la séparation du légendaire orchestre Staff Banda Bilili).

Avec Mbongwana Star, il parcourt le monde, et passe sur les scènes des plus grands festivals au monde, en Europe et en Amérique notamment (Coachella, Africolor, etc). Il collabore également sur 2 albums du groupes ‘’From Kinshasa to the moon’’ en 2015, et ‘’Bitumba’’ en 2017.

Guitariste et chanteur qui maîtrise parfaitement la Rumba et le Soukouss congolais, il offre aujourd’hui un projet musical en solo. Avec son parcours, sa générosité artistique, son énergie hors du commun, sa rapidité de jeu et son amour de la chanson. RNeuf exploite le flow de la rumba et soukouss de son pays d’origine et interprète sa passion musicale dans ses compositions aux rythmes de sa Rumba Rock Électro (Afro-Rock).

Born in a working class neighborhood in Kinshasa, DR Congo, where music is a way of life, guitarist-songwriter RNeuf, as a child, fell in love with the instrument his older brother played: the guitar. With this influence, he began to learn to play it with an instrument he made himself.

As he grew up, RNeuf became one of the revelations of Congolese music. He worked with different music groups in Congo, until he joined the famous group Mbongwana Star (group created after the separation of the legendary orchestra Staff Banda Bilili).

With Mbongwana Star, he travels the world, and plays on the stages of the biggest festivals in the world, in Europe and America in particular (Coachella, Africolor, etc). He also collaborates on 2 albums of the group ”From Kinshasa to the moon” in 2015, and ”Bitumba” in 2017.

Guitarist and singer who masters perfectly the Rumba and the Congolese Soukouss, he offers today a musical project in solo. With his background, his artistic generosity, his uncommon energy, his speed of play and his love of song. RNeuf exploits the flow of the rumba and soukouss of his country of origin and interprets his musical passion in his compositions, to the rhythms of his Rumba Rock Electro (Afro-Rock).

Molchat Doma au MTELUS

Molchat Doma, fondé en 2017 à Minsk, se situe à l’intersection du post-punk, de la new-wave et de la synth-pop. Sombre, mais dansant. Le groupe est composé d’Egor Shkutko, qui chante les paroles en russe avec ses tons profonds et tonitruants, de Roman Komogortsev à la guitare, aux synthés et à la boîte à rythmes, et de Pavel Kozlov à la basse et aux synthés.

Molchat Doma, founded in 2017 in Minsk, stand at the intersection of post-punk, new-wave and synth-pop. Dark, yet danceable. The band is comprised of Egor Shkutko, who sings the Russian lyrics in his deep, thundering tones, Roman Komogortsev on guitar, synths, and drum machine, and Pavel Kozlov on bass and synths.

Le Trio vous plonge d’abord dans la musique scénique de Philip Glass, Ludovico Einaudi et d’autres compositeurs dont les œuvres hypnotiques ont marqué leurs univers cinématographiques respectifs. S’enchaînent ensuite des mélodies pops épurées de Radiohead, Leonard Cohen et Brian Eno dans des transcriptions spécialement créées pour ce concert. Clair de Lune de Beethoven et une œuvre aux accents clairs-obscurs de Max Richter apportent également leurs lueurs à cette Nuit des minimalistes, ponctuée par une création québécoise. Un maximum d’émotions avec un minimum de notes!

Let yourself be enchanted by the greatest minimalists! The Trio first immerses us in the evocative music of Philip Glass, Ludovico Einaudi and other composers whose hypnotic works have left their mark on their respective cinematic worlds. This is followed by pure pop melodies by Radiohead, Leonard Cohen and Brian Eno in transcriptions created especially for this concert. Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata and the subtle play of light and shade in the music of Max Richter will also illuminate this ‘Night of the Minimalists’, intensified by a Quebec première. A maximum of emotion with a minimum of notes!

Ce concert éclectique, qui réunira près de 250 musiciens et artistes sur scène, vous fera découvrir les œuvres emblématiques des plus grands compositeurs de l’époque classique, romantique et jazz : Beethoven, Dvorak, Mendelssohn et Ellington.

Avec l’Orchestre symphonique du Conservatoire de la Montérégie, les Chœurs et Big band de l’École de musique Vincent-d’Indy, l’École supérieure de ballet du Québec et la gagnante du concours de concertos 2023 de l’École de musique Vincent-d’Indy, Maya Hilke-Stolle.

This eclectic concert, which will bring together nearly 250 musicians and artists on stage, will introduce you to the emblematic works of the greatest composers of the classical, romantic and jazz era: Beethoven, Dvorak, Mendelssohn and Ellington.

The Orchestre symphonique du Conservatoire de la Montérégie will perform along with the the student choir and Big band of the École de musique Vincent-d’Indy as well as dancers from École supérieure de ballet du Québec and the winner of the 2023 concerto competition, Maya Hilke-Stolle.

Dans le cadre de la Série Jeunesse, l’Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil présente le Concert du Printemps – Fondation Famille Le Blanc.

Vous pourrez entendre les Quatre saisons de Vivaldi interprétées par les musiciens de l’Orchestre et son talentueux chef et violoniste Alexandre Da Costa. Les saisons de Vivaldi seront ponctuées de chansons telles que l’Hymne à la beauté du monde, What a Wonderful World et plusieurs autres chansons ayant comme thématique l’environnement.

C’est avec la participation de plus de 300 élèves des écoles primaires du Centre de services scolaire Marie-Victorin et du Centre de services scolaire des Patriotes que vous vivrez toute la magie de cette merveilleuse édition 2023 du Concert du Printemps – Fondation Famille Le Blanc.

As part of its Youth Series, the Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil presents the Spring Concert – Fondation Famille Le Blanc.

Come hear Vivaldi’s Four Seasons performed by the musicians of the Orchestra, led by gifted violinist and conductor Alexandre Da Costa. The seasons will be interspersed with songs such as L’hymne à la beauté du monde, What a Wonderful World, and other pieces thematically revolving around the environment.

Over 300 students from primary schools of the Centre de services scolaire Marie-Victorin and of the Centre de services scolaire des Patriotes school boards will contribute to the magic of this 2023 Spring Concert – Fondation Famille Le Blanc.

Bob Vylan est un duo anglais basé à Londres qui joue un style fusionnant des éléments de grime, de punk rock et de hip hop. Le groupe a été formé en 2017 par le chanteur/guitariste Bobby Vylan et le batteur Bobbie Vylan. Le 22 avril 2022, le groupe sort son deuxième album studio, Bob Vylan Presents the Price of Life, qui entre au UK Albums Chart à la 18e place.

Bob Vylan are an English duo based in London who play a style merging elements of grime, punk rock and hip hop. The band was formed in 2017 by singer/guitarist Bobby Vylan and drummer Bobbie Vylan. On April 22, 2022, the band released their second studio album, Bob Vylan Presents the Price of Life, which entered the UK Albums Chart at number 18.

Véritable pionnier des scènes Drum’n’Bass et Dubstep depuis les années 2000, il enchaine les release depuis 2004, faisant évoluer sa musique en y incorporant des sons Dubstep et de musique expérimentale. En 2009 c’est la consécration quand il sort son album “Foundation”, signé sur le prestigieux label Digital Soundboy de Shy FX. Collaborant avec des artistes tels que Break, Shy FX, Rockwell, mais aussi Massive Attack, Roots Manuva ou encore David Rodigan, sa musique à laissé une marque indélébile sur la scène UK, Annie Mac le citant comme “le meilleur à ce qu’il fait”.

A true pioneer of the Drum’n’Bass and Dubstep scenes since the 2000s, he has been releasing albums since 2004, evolving his music by incorporating Dubstep and experimental music sounds. In 2009 he released his album “Foundation”, signed on the prestigious label Digital Soundboy of Shy FX. Alex Bellegarde Trio et invité au Dièse Onze

Les jam sessions avec Alex Bellegarde et son trio sont devenus un pignon hebdo du jazz montréalais. Vous y croisez les grands noms du jazz d’ici et d’ailleurs, ainsi que la relève. La première partie, Bellegarde son trio et invités présentent les pièces qui les inspirent et dans lesquelles l’improvisation a toute sa place. Le jam prend tout son envol dans la deuxième partie et se poursuit des fois tard dans la nuit. Les intrépides viennent se frotter aux démons de la scène ou créativité, spontanéité et générosité sont au menu!

Spectacle à 21h30 suivi d’un jam session.

Alex Bellegarde’s dynamic Tuesday jam session has become one of Montreal’s hippest weekly jazz events. The first set fires up with Bellegarde and his trio, playing host to a range of well known talents from the Montreal scene as well as musicians from out of town. The jam opens in the second set, to any jazz musician with the confidence to step up and play… there’s an unspoken rule though: “If you can’t keep up, you shouldn’t be on stage”. A great place to play and chill… the jam continues on into the early hours !

The show starts at 9:30 p.m. and is followed by a jam session.
