Whatever the Weather

Son univers en suspension fluctue, gelant, dégelant, oscillant et fleurissant avec fluidité de pièce en pièce, à l’image d’événements climatiques déferlant soudainement sur un environnement unique; un emplacement fixe aux conditions variables.

INFINI 8: Le Couleur, Ormiston, Paupière, Radiant Baby and Russell Louder at Société des Arts Technologiques

by Rédaction PAN M 360

Lisbon Lux Records is proud to present INFINI 8 projections, for the label’s 8th anniversary.

For this mini virtual festival, there will be 5 performances from fabulous artists and 5 different stages set by Pestacle.

You’ll see and hear these Lisbon Lux artists :

Le Couleur

Montreal trio Le Couleur, created by Laurence Giroux-Do (vocals), Patrick Gosselin (bass), and Steeven Chouinard (drums), delivers rich and irresistibly danceable performances.

In the album’s music, we find vintage influences, recalling the faded charm of 70s erotica, warm tones also rooted in psychedelia, disco, yéyé, and French chanson.

Radiant Baby

Radiant Baby, aka Félix Mongeon, comes from the Montreal music scene. His most recent album, Pantomime, draws inspiration from 70s vintage, passing through glam rock, punk, disco, and new wave. The fiery and rough energy of his music cultivates paradoxes, juxtaposing vulnerable, melancholic, and romantic ambiance, similar to artists such as Bowie, Blondie, Suicide, Pulp, and Serge Gainsbourg.

Ormiston

Ormiston is the solo project of Montreal born Nicola Ormiston. Singer-songwriter and producer of a sunny and laidback sound, somewhere between indie-pop, chillwave, and yacht rock where you can find influences from Toro Y Moi, MGMT, and electro-disco.

Russell Louder

Russell Louder (they/them) is a trans artist originally from Prince Edward Island, living part-time in Montreal and Charlottetown. They make electro-pop that’s carried by a powerful clear voice reminiscent of Florence and the Machine, London Grammar, Austra, Eurythmics, or La Roux. You only have to see Russell Louder in concert once to fall for the luminous and authentic world they built, both poignant and danceable, just like their music.

Paupière

Paupière

Mixing British synth-pop and French songs, Paupière is a “neo-romantic” band. Now led by Julia Daigle (visual artist) and Pierre-Luc Bégin (Polipe, We Are Wolves), they are a glamorous and flamboyant Montreal duo with an underground sensuality that creates a pop that is both naïve and profound. If one can hear echoes of Human League, Deux or Depeche Mode, their intertwined voices sing of the adolescent and hedonistic romanticism of the 80’s as much as contemporary disenchantment.

Nuit blanche @ SAT

by Alain Brunet

For the Montréal en lumière festival’s 17th Nuit blanche, la Société des arts technologiques (SAT) finds a good use for its extensive expertise in immersive and telepresence: being in two places simultaneously!

Telepresence and projection technologies developed by the SAT make it possible to merge spaces. You can “teleport” from one floor of the SAT to the other by immersing yourself in interactive audiovisual works, including real-time audiovisual performances.

The opportunities are twofold:

1. L’effet vert: racing game

Together with the public, dreamlike interactive scenes will be created by a video designer. A video inlay process will lead performers and audiences on both floors to be projected onto the video imagery as they move through the green space.

2. Graffiti numérique : line of light

Collaborating with artist Louis-Robert Bouchard, audiences on both floors will be able to jam on the creation of digital graffiti in a common space.

Rechristened l’Envers for the occasion, the Espace SAT (ground floor) will be open to the public free of charge. The invited DJs are Karaba, Nat Barrera, Odiile Myrtil and Jerico. The VJs are Maylee Keo and Gold Casanova. Snack are offered at Café SAT.

The top floor of the SAT (where the Satosphere is located) is bestowed with the name Vers l’envers, accessible for $10 (at the door only). Guest DJs are Lis Dalton, DJ Frog, Gene Tellem, Kris Guilty, and Guillaume Michaud. Visual projections in 360˚ are orchestrated by Daph4000- and Name. The public gathered on this floor gets treated to a selection of snacks and cocktails offered by the Culinary Lab.

For both floors of festivities, telepresence experiences are courtesy of The Green Effect and Graffiti.
